Knowing how to beginpurifying your weapons and armorinMetaphor: ReFantaziois only half the battle. You still need a healthy stock of certain limited-quantity items: specialty “waters” of progressively rarer vintages that are consumed during the purification process. Without them, that shiny new piece with the “may be purified at a church” note is nothing but a tease.

While you won’t need atonof Blessed, Graced, and Heavenly Water in Metaphor: ReFantazio - there are only so many purifiable pieces of gear - we’ll tell you where to find as many as possible so that you seldom bump into this unfortunate roadblock.

Trove Imitic prepares to use Hellbound in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

It’s All About Those Imitecs

You’ll findoccasional Blessed Watersand (even more rarely) their more powerful versions (Graced, and especially Heavenly) intreasure chests as well as those blue orb items throughout dungeons.

That’s all well and good. Every instance counts. But there’s a far more reliable way to gather as many as you need: bybattling Imitecs.

The Trove Imitic monster in the Abandoned Tomb prepares to attack in Metaphor_ ReFantazio.

You will first encounter these asPyrite Imitecsduring the’A Dagger, A Ring, And A Rake’side quest necessary to unlockAlonzoas a Follower. But if you do this early enough, you won’t yet have the means to get a ton of Blessed Waters. That’s fine.

Later on, you’ll encounter not only more Pyrite Imitecs, but advanced forms like theTrove Imitec(at theForsaken Tower, for example). Toward the end of the game, you’ll even findBloodcoin Imitecs. These are the best.

Steal, Run, Repeat

For this to work, you must have Heismay, the fourth party member. Heismay’sThiefclass provides the excellentStealskill. It doesn’t work on every item, and it won’t succeed every time, butyou willwant to use Steal on every Imitec you encounter.

Don’t worry - almost every location with Imitecs is not unlocked untilafterhe’s joined. That early spot for the Alonzo quest is the exception, and even then, you might well have Heismay already when you do it - up to you!

If you steal from aPyrite Imitec, you’ll get aBlessed Water.Trove Imitecs net you Graced Water, and the late-gameBloodcoin Imitecs are your source of Heavenly Water.

Don’t defeat the Imitec afterward. Instead, run away from it. Despite their locations being (mostly) bound towithin treasure chests, you will be able tore-battle them over and over again so long as you don’t kill them.

As a bonus,Imitecs sometimes drop purification waters after they’re defeated, too. So, you know - there’s a chance for yet another instance even when you’ve finally put them to pasture.
