Gohan, the son of Goku, has always stood out as one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball series. InDragon Ball: Sparking Zero, players get the chance to experience various versions of Gohan, each representing a different stage of his growth.

From his early days as a timid child to his ultimate form during the Buu Saga, Gohan’s transformations and fighting styles have left a significant mark on fans. While we are still waiting for his Beast form to make it into the game, the ones included are still worth a try.

The Struggling Warrior

Young Gohan from the Saiyan and Frieza Sagas is an important part of Dragon Ball Z history, but in Sparking Zero, this version of Gohan is understandably limited. While he has some potential with his blast and rush abilities, his overall lack of experience and raw power makes him the weakest Gohan in the game.

His moveset is solid for a beginner-level character, but he struggles in competitive scenarios, especially when compared to the more powerful iterations of himself. While he makes for a great nostalgic pick, he is far from the best character, even when limiting your choices to his particular arcs.

Just Below His Prime

Teen Gohan from the Cell Saga, in his base form, gives players a glimpse of Gohan’s potential before he reaches Super Saiyan 2. In Sparking Zero, this version of Gohan is more agile than his younger self and has access to more powerful energy attacks, but he still lacks the raw power needed to dominate in battle.

His moveset focuses on quick melee strikes and energy blasts, but without the transformation to Super Saiyan, he can’t reach his full strength. Still, the very fact he can turn Super Saiyan might be enough to pick him, since turning into Super Saiyan 2 gives you more raw power than starting off as one.

Power Unleashed, But Still Limited

Gohan from the Buu Saga, in his Super Saiyan 2 form, is a strong contender in Sparking Zero, combining power and speed. His energy blasts and melee combos pack a serious punch, and his Super Saiyan 2 transformation gives him a significant boost in battle.

However, by the time of the Buu Saga, Gohan’s fighting spirit has diminished somewhat, and this is reflected in his gameplay. His Masenko blast is particularly limited, lacking the range that you might be used to with other energy-based attacks.

A Fun Twist On Gohan’s Character

The Great Saiyaman is Gohan’s quirky superhero persona, and in Sparking Zero, this version of Gohan addsa fun twist to the roster. While not as powerful as his Super Saiyan forms, Great Saiyaman comes with a unique moveset, focusing on flashy, over-the-top attacks that reflect his crime-fighting persona.

He’s not the most effective character in combat, but his sheer entertainment value and fun gameplay style make him a fan-favorite. His ultimate ability even summons Videl for a romantic duo beat down, making him ideal for players focusing on fun when picking their characters.

Battle-Hardened And Powerful

Future Gohan, from the alternate timeline where most of the Z fighters have been wiped out, brings a more somber and serious version of the character to Sparking Zero. Missing one arm, this battle-hardened Gohan has a more aggressive and determined fighting style, something often onlyaluded to by Trunks, his surviving student.

In his Super Saiyan form, he’s incredibly powerful, and his moveset reflects his desperate struggle to fight off the androids in his timeline. Be careful, however, since the fact that he has only one arm means that he can’t clash against other characters when performing a grab.

An Iconic Power-Up

Gohan’s Super Saiyan 2 transformation during the Cell Saga is one of the most iconic moments in Dragon Ball history, and in Sparking Zero, this version of Gohan delivers. With increased speed, power, and devastating energy attacks, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan is a force to be reckoned with.

His famous Father-Son Kamehameha move is one of the most powerful and recognizable attacks in the game, capable of turning the tide of battle in an instant. And his whole moveset makes him rather competitive, with ways of spending his resources into instantly having max energy, or pushing his enemies away.

1Ultimate Gohan

The Pinnacle Of Gohan’s Power

Taking the top spot is Gohan in his Ultimate Form during the Buu Saga. After having his potential unlocked by the Elder Kai, Gohan no longer needs to rely on his Super Saiyan transformations, since his base form is already as powerful as a Super Saiyan 3.

His moveset is versatile, allowing players to dominate both in close combat and from a distance, making him the most powerful and well-rounded version of the character in the game. His version from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 left a lot to be desired, but this revision of the character makes him reachhis deserved height.

Packing wild sense to avoid attacks automatically, and a full power charge that gives him easy access to his most powerful move, this Gohan is highly competitive. For players looking to harness the full potential of Gohan, this is the ultimate choice, pun very much intended.
