Summary
It’s been a while since we’ve last had agoodTransformersgame.Like a really long time.Because High Moon Studios' excellent Fall of Cybertron was released in 2012, and with us being in the latter half of 2024, we’re closer to 2032 than we are to 2012.
However, it appears that Transformers might finally be on the verge of getting a quality game. And while it isn’t exactly the Triple-A cinematic escapade we all dream of, it seems to be taking cues from a breakout hit —Vampire Survivors.
As first spotted on ResetEra, Tomy Gameshas officially revealed Transformers Multi Shock. It’s an action shooter set from a top-down perspective with gameplay that looks eerily similar to that of Vampire Survivors. Only except instead of vampire adjacent characters,it’s the Autobots and Decepticons that make up the world of Transformers.
More Details Have Been Shared Online
Per a separate discovery on that same ResetEra thread, more details about Transformers Multi Shock have been unearthed. It’s being described as a “Metallic Rogue-like RPG,” that features “clear rules” from the rogue-like genre. As far as gameplay is concerend, it’s been described as a game with “a personal skill-building system, enjoyable contents and power battle scenes between Decepticons and Autobots based on survival.
The game will seemingly make use of four character classes: Striker, Fighter, Assassin and Supporter. Each of those classes will have a set of active and passive skillsets. More so, the characters that belong to those classes can be upgraded.
Similarly, the weapons in the game will also be upgradeable.Per that same page, “each weapon has different tiers and can be upgraded to enhance its power and distance.”
Unfortunately, the game appears to be headed for a Japan-only release, at least for the time being. No release date has been given butthe translated version of the announcement tweet notes “soon.“Hopefully, this game will be able to make its way out of Japan and onto multiple systems, because what’s being described truly sounds like a delight.
