Summary

Romancing SaGahas always been a little bit different in the way it handles New Game Plus. Usually, the mode allows someone to play through an entire game a second time, yet keep their progression from their first playthrough, allowing them to tackle higher difficulties with a bit more of an advantage. Romancing SaGa’s version is relatively similar, but you’re able to activate the mode pretty much whenever you like.

It’s a big tradition, and a feature that many games across the series have utilized - especially in the earlier titles - but theRomancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Sevenremake has decided to walk a different path. In fact, it’s deviated from the original game quite a bit, in that it has absolutely no New Game Plus mode at all. Instead, players will be able to choose different difficulty modes to help them get through sections of the game in which they might find themselves stuck.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven Doesn’t Have New Game Plus

That’s an absolutely massive change for both fans of the series and the original Romancing SaGa 2, and just like the games themselves, the change is likely to divide opinion. You may also be asking yourself exactly what is replacing New Game Plus in Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven since it was such a massive part of the game’s progression system.

Instead of New Game Plus, players will be able to delve into an optional super dungeon that you’ll unlock after you roll credits for the first time. This dungeon is filled with tough fights, ultimate bosses, and the expected level of rewards to go with them, which developer Square Enix will be hoping makes up for the lack of a traditional New Game Plus mode.
