Summary

When it comes to mascot recognition,Hello Kittyis up there with the best of them when it comes to being recognized the world over. However, the cartoon cat and her Sanrio friends tend to put merch first and stuff like games and shows come later. Being a Sanrio fan is more about sporting its merch than anything else, and you can now add to your collections viaa new range of Funko Pops featuring all of Sanrio’s biggest characters, and they’re all brought desserts.

There are six new Funko Pops, each a different character and each of them brings a different sweet treat to your Pop collection. Hello Kitty kicked off Sanrio’s rise to prominence so it only seems right that’s where we begin. Hello Kitty’s new Pop is very traditional, based on the design you likely think of whenever you hear her name. She’s also carrying a very traditional dessert - a slice of cake. The best part? The cake has a tiny Hello Kitty bow on top of it.

Cinnamoroll is also a part of the collection and also comes bearing cake. Perhaps somewhat surprising as, if you ask me, there are two more obvious options when it comes to the dessert I’d have assumed Cinnamoroll would bring to a party. Cinnamon rolls, for starters, although perhaps Sanrio and Funko thought that might’ve been a little on the nose.Cinnamoroll also has his own ice cream-scented backpack, though as you’re about to find out, almost everyone else in this new Funko Pop range has brought ice cream.

Everyone In Team Sanrio Has A New Funko Pop

Dessert Included!

Kuromi, My Melody, and Pochacco’s Funko Pops are all holding ice cream cones. In their defense, ice cream is always the best option when it comes to dessert. As if each of them isn’t cute enough, their ice creams are miniature versions of themselves which are downright adorable. The only dessert I’ve not been able to identify is Pompompurin’s. It’s a green blob with a little brown hat on it sculpted in his own image, but even the Pop’s description simply labels it “dessert”.

Hello Kitty With Cake Funko Pop

Part of a range in which Hello Kitty and her friends have been given desserts to bring, Hello Kitty herself has opted for a slice of cake. The Pop’s design is pretty traditional, and the cake the figure is holding has a scoop of ice cream with a Hello Kitty bow on top of it.

Kuromi With Ice Cream Funko Pop

Sanrio has created a range of Funko Pops in which all of its most famous characters have been given a dessert. Kuromi has an ice cream cone, but what makes hers unique from the others is the scoop of ice cream on top has been made to look exactly like her own head.

Sanrio kicked things off with Hello Kitty 50 years ago this year and has marked the occasionby releasing a limited edition Hello Kitty Squishmallow. That’s far from the only new merch spun from Hello Kitty and her friends recently, though.A team-up with the Care Bearshas led to the creation of some very unique crossover plushes, andeverything in Sanrio’s 2024 Winter Wonderland collectionis available now.
