Summary

Bloober Teamdirector and designer Wojciech Piejko has confirmed that the developer is “always open” to making moreSilent Hillgames, whether that be remakes or a brand-new entry.

W/hen it was first revealed thatBloober Team would be developing the recently-released remake of Silent Hill 2, it’s fair to say that most fans weren’t exactly pleased. Although Bloober has plenty of experience with the genre, itsprevious games like Layers of Fear and The Medium weren’t exactly subtle with their themes and scares, a necessity for Konami’s iconic psychological horror.

As the last few weeks have taught us, though,we could have all done with having a bit more faith, as the Silent Hill 2 remakehas been very positively received all around by both newcomers and long-term fans. That success could pave the way for more remakes in the future, as Bloober Team’s director has confirmed the developer is “always open” to more Silent Hill.

Bloober Team Is “Open” To More Silent Hill

Following theannouncement of its upcoming original IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, Bloober Team director and designerWojciech Piejko was asked by IGN if the studio would be interested in making more Silent Hill remakesor a brand-new game in the series that’s completely original to Bloober.

In response, Piejko said that he thinks that Bloober is “always open” to taking opportunities that it likes and finds interesting and notes that there are certain opportunities, like remaking Silent Hill 2, that you just have to “seize”. Piejko ends by saying that he believes anything is possible, which should generate some hope for those wanting to see more Silent Hill in the future.

I think we are always open. If we like the opportunity, we’ll take it. There are opportunities that you have to seize. Like Silent Hill 2, you can remake the legend. So yeah, I do believe that everything’s possible. - Wojciech Piejko

While Piejko and Bloober are seemingly very happy to work on the Silent Hill series in the future (even if the statement is a bit general to take to heart too much), it’s worth noting that the decision is ultimately going to be up to Konami, who hasn’t said anything about any more remakesor games involving Bloober.Considering how well the Silent Hill 2 remake has performed, though, it seems very likely that it’ll be interested.
