Summary

We all love a good fan theory, especially when it comes to video games. Some fan theories are absolutely silly (Chadley in Final Fantasy 7 is actually evil), while some genuinely make a great deal of sense (the Resident Evil cast are all infected).

WithSilent Hill 2 Remakeofficially out in the wild, theBloober Teamled reimagining of one of gaming’s most iconic horror titles is the latest to receive a fan theory. And it isn’t some simple theory, either. The Twitter user behind Silent Hill 2 Remake also being a “remake” for James has laid out all the evidence.

Buckle up, because things are about to get wild.

Time Is A Figment Of Imagination, Anyway

First and foremost, we’re about to include some massive spoilers for Silent Hill 2 Remake, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, please click off.

Spoilers will follow

Taking to Twitter, Deadhead laid out all the evidence for what they believe makes SH2 Remake a genuine remake for its main character. They believe that the game’s events are taking place in some sort of loop that Silent Hill has James in.

Their evidence centers largely around the various discarded puzzles, as well as the notes that mention “Getting it right.” Adding to that theory is the fact that the Pyramid Head of SH2 Remake behaves differently than that of the original.

There are a few more bits of analysis, largely related to a movie poster in the game and the actual story it’s based off of. Those are interesting, though they require an understanding of the story, as well as some imagination stretching. The author notesthat they’ll be back later to thread some more analysis, so it’ll be fascinating to see what more they come up with.

Like we said, it’s pretty compelling. Of course, it’s highly unlikely that Bloober will come out and say one way or the other, if it’s true, though it would be awesome if they did. Much like James, all we’ll have to do is wait and see, and maybe when the time is right, we’ll find out more.
