Summary

Silent Hill 2 Remakeis launching in a matter of days, and despitean initially hostile reception, developer Bloober Team has managed to somewhat turn things around thanks to a couple of good trailers andsome surprisingly positive previews. It’s a game that’sgoing through a bit of a redemption arc at the moment, and it seems as though Silent Hill publisher Konami is pleased with the results too.

In fact, in a recent interview withPolish outlet Bankier(translated by Wccftech), Bloober Team president and Silent Hill 2 Remake producer Piotr Babieno himself hinted that Konami is happy with the work that the studio has been doing, and claimed that their blossoming relationship may continue into the future.

“you may expect that this is not the end of the adventure with Konami.”

While Babieno doesn’t outright state that Bloober Team will be working on more Silent Hill games, it’s very easy to see Konami leaning on them once again for potential remakes of other titles if Silent Hill 2 ends up being a massive success. Both the original Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 are very well-loved among the community, and they’re both natural directions for Konami to go should Silent Hill2 sell by the bucket load.

Silent Hill 2 Will Be A Console Exclusive For One Year

Of course, Silent Hill 2 Remake has to sell well first, and it’s possible that the game might not make the numbers that convince Konami to double down on remakes. It’s got a better chance than other PS5 exclusives though - such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - thanks to the game’s simultaneous launch on PC,though its delayed launch on Xbox could hurt its chances.

It’s hard to say though. It’s clear that Bloober Team is working its socks, and the fact thatthe game is almost twice the length of the originalis testament to how much effort the developer is putting into making sure both old and new players have something to enjoy. We’ll have to see whether the team can stick the landing when Silent Hill 2 Remake launches on October 8.
