A couple of people have posted screenshots of the game’s box and disc on Reddit, with one user (Summincool) saying they got an early copy from a pre-order they made with UK retailer GAME. They report the game is running on Patch 1.01 and have revealed some of the details about the trophy list. There have beenother posts featuring the game’s disc, which reads “There was a hole here. It’s gone now,” on the front.
The etiquette about spoiling a game that was released in 2001 is murky - some people will be experiencing the game for the first time and aren’t going to want to read major plot details, but considering that people on social media have no qualms about spoiling a brand-new game, their inhibitions are going to be even lower with a remake.
An Early Return To Silent Hill
That being said, there haven’t been any leaks that have circulated widely so far, surprising considering multiple reports that some players received their copies early. PerhapsKonamiandBloober Teamare being extra vigilant in taking down leaked content, or the few players who are currently playing Silent Hill 2 are surprisingly respectful.
Eurogamerhas reported that some of these posts are accompanied by screenshots which are verifiably not from trailers or pre-release content. In any case, if you’re looking to avoid spoilers, the best thing to do would be to avoid forums where you’re likely to be exposed to leaked content.
Despite Silent Hill 2 Remake’s rocky start with fans, Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno hinted that Konami is pleased with the work of the studio and has said Bloober Team’s relationship with the Japanese publisherwill continue into the future.
Silent Hill 2 Remake releases on October 8 for PC and PlayStation 5. Those who pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the game can access it two days early. Silent Hill 2 Remake is set to bea PlayStation 5 console exclusive for at least a year.
