Summary

While it’s been confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won’t be receiving any further post-launch support in the form of expansion DLC, it has been revealed thatthe final batch of costumes for Peter and Miles will be coming on Thursday.

In a post on Twitter,Insomniac Games’Aaron Jason Espinoza, who serves as the studio’s community manager, shared that the costumes should be available later this week. A back-end hold up is responsible for a delay, and an official blog post will follow at some point.

When those costumes drop onPlayStation 5, that will officially mark the end of support forSpider-Man 2. Save for a surprise batch of suits, which seems doubtful at this point, the game will have completed its run.

Fans Have Been Waiting For The Suits

The “Fresh N' Fly” DLC costumes, which were originally made available in early March fora modest $4.99, were supposed to come to players at a later date for free, though up until recently, that date hadn’t come to pass. Both suits, which were designed in partnership with Gameheads, a non-profit dedicated to helping low-income people and people of color aspiring to be part of the video game industry, also came with extra Photo Mode stickers and frames for the main game.

As The Gamer reported in September, the lack of availability for the costumes drew ire from the larger Spider-Man community. “They said they would be available for free after some time has passed, and the deadline for the money going to charity is already over,“one user wrote. “Now if you buy it, your money will just go to Sony.”

However, those fans no longer have a reason to be upset. Those costumes are finally being added for everyone, and thus our journey with Spider-Man 2 is complete.
