Summary
It’s almost been a year since the release ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. I know, it feels likeInsomniac’s fantastic sequel has been in our lives a lot longer. Unfortunately, there’sstill no indication that the sequel will be getting any DLC. There’s a silver lining though, particularly if you likeFunko Pops.Six more figures tied to characters and suitsfeatured in the game have been shown off, and all of them will be available to buy this week ahead of the sequel’s first anniversary.
Venom was introduced to Insomniac’s Spider-Verse via Spider-Man 2 and the symbiote, whoalready has a Funko Pop based on his likeness in Insomniac’s latest game, now has two new figures. One depicts Venom with his wings out, making for quite an impressive design. Venom’s second appearance in this latest batch of Spidey Pops makes for an even more impressive design, though. One so good,Funko has turned it into a figure and a keychain.
The Pop has been namedAdvanced Suit 2.0 Symbiote Takeoversince it depicts Peter in the sequel’s base suit while he is being influenced by Venom. Spidey’s Advanced Suit 2.0 is peeking out from behind the symbiote as it consumes the web-slinger, tendrils out and a transparent stand attached to the back of the figure to make it look like they’re pushing Spider-Man up off the ground.
Six New Spider-Man Funko Pops Will Be Available From Various Retailers Today
Most Through Amazon, But Some Will Be Storefront Exclusives
If you haven’t played through Spider-Man 2’s story yet and you want to avoid spoilers, stop reading here as I’m about to discuss something that happens late on in the game. Sure, the game is a year old, but there’s been a lot of stuff to play between then and now. If it’s still sitting in your backlog waiting to be played, hey, I get it.
Joining the two new symbiote Pops are four non-Venom figures. Well, I guess one of them is Venom adjacent. Scream is effectively an extension of Venom, and that portion of the symbiote bonds with MJ in Spider-Man 2, creating quite the quandary for Peter.Scream’s unique red and yellow design has been turned into a Funko Popthat will be available atAmazonand other Funko retailers later today.
The other three Pops joining Funko’s Spider-Man 2 collection are alternate looks for Peter, Miles Morales, and Harry Osborn.Peter’s black and white Anti-Venom suit, one of the best-looking in the game, is now a Pop, Miles' rather suave-lookingCity Sounds Suitjoins it, andthe Spidey-style look Harry sportswhen he’s the one under Venom’s control rounds out today’s drop. The listings aren’t live yet, but keep checking back as we’ll have links to all of them right here when they become available.
