Summary
Splatoon 3is winding down support after two years, announcing that all regular updates will now come to a close. To commemorate, it held one lastSplatfest— Past vs. Present vs. Future, AKA the Grand Festival. It was a momentous occasion that brought the entire community together, but don’t worry if you missed it.
As one fan pointed out on the game’s subreddit, you can use Idol Amiibos to revisit the Grand Festival at a later date. There are three bundles in total, the Alterna Set (Callie & Marie), the Side Order Set (Pearl & Marina), and the Triple Pack (Shiver, Big Man, and Frye). These are available to purchase directly from the My Nintendo Store for £25.99 to £38.99.
If you’ve been living under a rock for the last ten years,Amiibos are physical toysthat you can connect to your favourite Nintendo games.
As they show off in the post embedded below, all you need to do is interract with your Amiibo in the hub world to bring up the option to “Remember” key events. In this case, Colorful Evenings, Night of Unity (the Grand Festival), and Tranquil Dawn. The in-game logic being that your character is reminiscing about the event, not magically travelling back in time.
You Can’t Take Part In The Photo Shoot, However
There are some caveats with this method — for one, you can’t participate in the Giant Clam photo shoot for reaching the Ruler Splatfest Rank or higher. That will forever remain an exclusive to those who took part during the actual festivities, so make sure to hold those photos dear if you have them.
The other caveat is that Amiibos are a physical collectible item, which means that not everyone will be able to replay the festival.
Already, the Triple Pack is out of stock, and since this only works with Idol Amiibos, that leaves just the Alterna and Side Order sets. Now is the time to grab them if you want the option to relive the event.
