Summary

After delays brought about by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine where the studio behind the game is based,Stalker 2is almost here. On the bright side, Stalker’s Legends Of The Zone trilogy, which launched on current platforms earlier this year, has been keeping fans of the series occupied for the last few months. That’s unless you wanted to play the original Stalker games onNintendo Switch, although there’s some very good news coming your way if you’ve been waiting for that to happen.

Stalker studio GSC Game World announced today thatthe Legends Of The Zone collection is finally coming to Switch. Even better, you don’t have long to wait until it gets here. The trilogy will be available to buy and play on Switch from July 28, 2025. Not only is that a little more than three weeks away, but Halloween is the best time of year to go back and play the Stalker games.

Those unfamiliar with the Stalker series - which is understandable since it has been 15 years since the last installment - might be wondering why the next game is called Stalker 2 when three games preceded it. Developed when games had much faster turnarounds, Shadow Of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call Of Pripyat were released at a rate of one game per year between 2007 and 2009 and, when played back-to-back like those with the Legends Of The Zone trilogy can play them, are effectively one long game.

Stalker’s Original Trilogy Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

Either As A Bundle Or Each Game Can Be Bought Individually

The trilogy will cost $39.99 on Switch, the same price as other platforms, oreach of the three titles can be bought individually for $19.99 each. You’ll save $20 by buying the trilogy bundle, but if there’s one entry, in particular, that you want to revisit on Switch, you will have the option to do that for less. The Switch version of the OG Stalker trilogy has been optimized for theNintendoconsole, making use of gyro controls for aiming and an interface compatible with the Switch’s touchscreen.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy

WHERE TO PLAY

Stalker: Legends Of The Zone trilogy is a collection of the first three games in the series all in one bundle. That’s Shadow Of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call Of Prypiat all optimized for modern consoles.

Provided there are no more delays, Stalker 2 will be released on November 20 on just about every platform other than the Switch. Predictable as it’s unlikely the Switch will be able to handle a game as advanced as Stalker 2, but perhaps the arrival of the original trilogy is a sign its sequel will come to Switch 2 whenever Nintendo gets around to announcing and releasing its next console.
