Summary

Stardew Valley update 1.6 is finally out on console and mobileafter months of waiting, but there’s an issue — stylish cats are lagging out the game.

“PSA: if you are experiencing performance issues, remove all hats from pets,“ConcernedApe tweeted. “We will address the problem as soon as possible.”

It’s unclear whyplaying dress up with your petswould cause the game to bug out, but for now, it might be time to take theBridal Veiloff your horse. They can get married after the lag has been ironed out, I promise.

How To Remove Hats From Your Pets In Stardew Valley

If you’re not sure how to take a hat off your pet, ConcernedApe was nice enough to lend a hand in the comments: “If you try putting a different hat on your pet, it will remove the original hat first.”

Simple enough, but it does mean you need a second hat handy (we have a guide onwhere to find all of them, if you need).

ConcernedApe Is Aware Of The Crafting Bug

Another issue with the 1.6 update on console is that the advanced crafting options at the tooltable (when next to chests) don’t always show items if they’re in your backpack.

Someone pointed out the bug in the comments of ConcernedApe’s tweet, to which he responded, “I’m aware of this bug, but haven’t been able to reproduce it on my end yet,” asking what platform they’re on.

Replies from several players mention it happening across the board on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Hopefully, a fix will be deployed soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to dump everything into the adjacent chests.
