Summary
Street Fighter 6receivedthe series' first ever guest character today, as Terry fromFatal Furyhas been tearing up the streets of Metro City. Just like with all the characters added to the game since release, it hasn’t taken people long to hit the training mode and start getting a feel for him, labbing long, high damage combos to take into more competitive matches.
It shouldn’t be too surprising then that Street Fighter 6 fans have already managed to find a secret input for Terry, one which is a neat little nod to the series from which he hails.First discovered by Twitter user Maneater_DGR, Terry has two inputs for his iconic Power Geyser super, the first being the Street Fighter 6 version, which is simply two quarter circles backwards and a punch.
Street Fighter 6 Includes The Classic Input For Terry’s Power Geyser
However, there’s also a second input for the exact same move, that being the classic input used in the Fatal Fury series. For those unaware, if you do a single quarter circle backwards, then input down-back and forward - followed by a heavy punch and medium kick together, you’ll get a special version of Power Geyser which looks a lot more similar to the Power Geyser in classic Fatal Fury games.
While it doesn’t have much use outside of maybe some extremely specific combos - and it’s potentially an easier set of inputs to pull off if you’re not a fan of two backwards quarter circles - it is a neat little nod to Fatal Fury, and a sign that Capcom is clearly respecting the games from which Terry came. It’s a great sign if Capcom commits to the guest character route, and for Mai’s eventual inclusion as she’s up next this Winter.
There was a lot of confusion surrounding Street Fighter 6’s next round of characters, but it was later clarified that Mai is coming this Winter, and Elena is coming this Spring. We won’t be waiting more than a year for our next Fatal Fury character.
It’s always neat to see how much effort Capcom is putting into each Street Fighter 6 character, as it did the same when Akuma was added in May this year, giving him secret supers that can only be accessed by using a secret taunt that had him eat and finish a rice ball. It’s almost nailed on that we’ll get even more secrets to uncover when Mai joins the roster, and I can’t wait to see what they’ll be.
