Flash forward to today, and those same fans have taken issue with Lawless being the game’s next DLC character.

It Could’ve Been Anyone Else

Taking to Reddit, the unofficial Kill the Justice League sub had a lot of thoughts about the upcoming DLC, and most of them were largely negative.

“Honestly, the biggest flop was giving us Ms. Freeze and her, instead of other actual characters who have once or would fit into a Suicide Squad team,“one user wrote in part, adding, “I have nothing against Lawless or Ms. Freeze as characters in this game, but it’s undeniable that we should’ve gotten some more ‘Oh of course’ picks before them to help build the roster out. I mean even Deathstroke is going to be a long-awaited and ‘Finally’ moment in my book in Season 4.”

Indeed,Deathstroke has been leaked to be the game’s Season 4 character, though he won’t make his way into the shooter until 2025. As for Mrs. Freeze and Lawless, many believe that the game would have been better served putting in former or current canonical Suicide Squad members, like Killer Frost, in place of Freeze or Peacemaker over anyone.

To this point, the game has been confirmed to have a full year’s worth of content, though what happens next is anyone’s guess. “We are not yet discussing anything that is not announced,“a Warner Bros. spokesperson told IGNwhen asked about the game’s future after all seasons have been released.

“They could have pulled the rug like Concord, but they’re still releasing the roadmap, I have a lot of respect for that,“one user chimed in.The game has resulted in a reported $200 million hit for WB, and recently,a wave of layoffs has seemingly hit Rocksteady’s QA department in the wake of the game’s failure. There are undeniably a lot of things that could’ve made the game a success, and staying true to who the Suicide Squad are as a team is certainly at the top of the list. If not from us, then take it from the fans who are still keeping the game alive.
