Summary
We are now less than five months away from theNintendo Switch’s eighth birthday and other thanNintendopromising it’ll tell us something at some point, we still don’t know anything about its successor. Hard to blame Nintendo for that when the Switch and its games continue to sell so well, and that also means it rarely feels the need to cut the prices of those games.Super Mario Odyssey, one of the biggest and best games on Switch, is available for considerably less right now though for a limited time.
Target’s Circle Week is officially underway. From now until October 12, anyone who is signed up to Target Circle can benefit from big discounts on an array of products across Target’s website as well as in its stores. If you’re not signed up to Circle, you’re able to do it right now. It’s free, takes no time at all, and once you’re done, you’ll be able to add Odyssey and a couple of other Switch games that will cost regular customers $60 to your collection for $39.99 each.
Even though Odyssey was a launch title for the Switch, it has sold so consistently during the console’s seven-and-a-half-year run that Nintendo rarely feels the need to drop its price. This will potentially be the last holiday season when the Switch is Nintendo’s focus though, so it appears to be going all out to make it one to remember. Perhaps even the quarter during which the Switch becomes the best-selling console of all time.
The Switch is currently sitting on a little more than 143 million units sold. It needs to sell 11 million more to overtake theNintendo DS, and another 12 million to surpass thePS2which has been in the number one spot for more than 15 years.

It’s Not Often Good Games With Mario In Are This Cheap
Having sold more than 28 million copies, Odyssey is the fifth best-selling Switch game and many of you probably already have it. Target has slashed the prices of other Switch games for Circle Week, though.New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is also down to $40 from $60, and the criminally underratedKirby and The Forgotten Landhas received the same discount. One of the very best platformers on the Switch, and that’s saying something considering its competition.
Super Mario Odyssey
WHERE TO PLAY
Super Mario Odyssey brought the 3D platforming series to the Nintendo Switch for the first time. Launched in 2017, it sees Mario team up with a sentient hat named Cappy, as they look to save Princess Peach once again.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is a side-scrolling platformer, released for the Nintendo Switch in 2019. It is an improved version of the 2012 Wii U title without the Deluxe. The new Deluxe version comes with New Super Luigi U DLC as well as other improvements to the original game. There is also a new playable character, Toadette.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Initially launched in 2022 for Nintendo Switch, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the first 3D title in the main series. This time, Kirby must save the Waddle Dees, and can swallow anything from enemies to cars to help.
That’s still not all. Other Switch games available for less at Target this weekinclude Bluey: The Videogame,Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged, andAvatar: The Last Airbender. Following the news thatSaber is working on a new big-budget triple-A Avatar game, picking up this older one on the Switch for just $19.99 might be just what you need to fill the gap between now and that recently announced game’s release - it’s probably going to be a while.
