Summary

Yooka-Replayleejust confirmed that it’s coming toPlayStationandXboxwhen it launches, while also unsubtly hinting that it’ll be released on the still unannouncedSwitch2.

Although we’ve known for averylong time thatNintendo is currently working on the successor to the Nintendo Switch(which most are just calling the Switch 2), we surprisingly still haven’t had an official reveal. It’s hopefully just around the corner and soon to be announced by the Big N, but that hasn’t stopped some developers from basically confirming their support.

Last month, Pathea Games, known for the My Time At series, got sick of waiting and confirmed that its latest game,My Time at Evershine, will be releasing on “future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced”. That marked the very first game confirmed for the Switch 2, and that list has just been joined by an unlikely title.

Yooka-Replaylee Is The Switch 2’s Second Confirmed Game

That game is none other than the Banjo-Kazooie-inspired Yooka-Replaylee, which is a remaster of 2017’s Yooka-Laylee. Replaylee was revealed and confirmed to be launching on PC earlier this year, but thelatest trailer finally announced that it’s also going to be coming to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.

The new trailer was also accompanied by previews of a demo for Yooka-Replaylee.You can check out my thoughts on the remaster here!

Notably, though, the press release and trailer don’t say that Replaylee is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Instead, they cheekily just say that the game is coming to “Nintendo”, with a sideway eye emoji for some extra nudging. In case you haven’t figured it out, Yooka-Replaylee is basically confirming that it’ll release on the still-unannounced Switch 2.

To make matters even more obvious, the trailer for Yooka-Replayleeends by showing a splash screen with all of the confirmed platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo. A pair of googly eyes appears on-screen and hops on the logos, before settling on top of Nintendo and looking straight at the camera. Come on now, that’s about as direct as you can get.
