Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’sseventh Operation takes players back to Kadaku to end the Tyranid threat once and for all. The xenos scum are attempting to harvest the entire planet for biomass with massive capillary towers, protected by a Hierophant Bio-Titan and a massive army of weaker units. It’s up to your fireteam to get inside a nearby Imperial fortress and destroy the Bio-Titan before the towers spread.
While the scale of this mission is certainly impressive, your core objectives are fairly straightforward. Most players will struggle against the Bio-Titan on their first run, but otherwise this is a trivial mission. Let’s cover what loadouts to bring, optimal classes, and give a brief rundown of each encounter.
Notable Enemies
Raveners,Lictor
A few objectives in this mission require you to remain stationary for extended periods of time.Heavyis fantastic here since it can lock down entire hallways with the Multi-Melta or the Heavy Plasma Incendior. If you’re playing on higher difficulties like Lethal,aBulwarkis also a great choice. Deploy your banner whenever your squad’s HP gets low, and use your shield to block incoming ranged attacks.
The Hierophant boss deals immense damage and can easily wipe your squad on higher difficulties. Try to keep your Medicae Stimms for the boss fight.
Reach The Reclamations Center
Your squad will be deployed just outside a Cadian outpost. The Imperium is trying to eliminate a Hierophant, a massive creature that’s classified as a Bio-Titan. These creatures are impervious to small-arms fire and have terrifying artillery cannons mounted on their arms, but fortunately for you, there’s a way to take this massive creature down.
Make your way through the jungle until you reach theReclamations Center,an underground sewer that leads into a derelict Imperial fortress. The path will be filled with dozens of Tyranid forces and two potential locations forExtremis or Terminus-level encounters, but there’s plenty of room to maneuver during this part. Line the Tyranids up into a tight line and unleash hellfire upon them.
Reawaken The Consoles
Inside the facility will be a series of dormant consoles that need to be reactivated to kickstart the cannons outside.Quadrants of the facility will be marked as capture points. Stand inside of them as long as you can.Enemies will swarm your location from multiple sides during this part, so have some grenades or a class ability at the ready.
Partway through the capture, the Machine Spirit will detect hostile material growing nearby.Use your HUD to locate Tyranid spores on the upper floor and destroy them. You’ll find three spores next to a single machine. Shooting them with your pistol should do the job. Break all three spores, recapture the point, and repeat once more to get the consoles online.
Reach The Cannons
Now that the gates are open, make your way towards the upper fortress. You’ll have to fight your way up a silo-like room. Climb up the stairs and carve a path through the Tyranids. The top floor will have a lift that will take your squad to the fortress cannons. There’s a loadout pod here, so don’t be afraid to swap your gear before you proceed.
At the top of the fortress, you’ll see the Hierophant in all its glory, walking right through the fortress and its dormant guns. Make your way to the opposite end of the fortress to find the cannon controls. Activate the terminal when you’re ready to fight the Bio-Titan.
Defeat The Hierophant Bio-Titan
Activating the central terminal will link your sidearm with the reactivated guns.Your pistol is now a targeting system for the gun turrets; you can’t use your pistol normally until the cannons are drained. Get a clear sightline on the Hierophant, aim your pistol, and hold the trigger on its carapace until the cannons start firing. You have roughly three barrages to work with, so make them count.
The Hierophant will bombard the fortress with artillery fire once you damage it. Reposition the second you see its cannons light up.
A handful of barrages aren’t enough to down this massive creature. You’ll need torecharge the cannons by interacting with energy stations near the corners of the arena. The one you need to spin will be marked on your HUD. One of your players will need to spin the device for roughly ten seconds, during which Tyranid forces will spawn at your location. The Hierophant will also bombard your position. If you’re able to’t charge it immediately, reposition and wait.
Now that you have charge, get back to the central terminal and reconnect with the cannons. Use your pistol to mark the Titan, obliterate its armor, and repeat until the boss is slain. It took us about three sets of barrages to kill the boss, although this might increase on higher difficulties.
