Summary

Each role inMobile Legendshas a specific job to do. Marksmen are their game’s late-game carries, roamers ensure their team can fulfill their responsibilities, and EXP laners soak up damage and split push their towers. The assassins have perhaps the most fun job: to make sure the enemy team’s damage dealers don’t see the light of day.

There are many things that make a good assassin. They need to be able to deal large amounts of damage quickly and have ways to get in and out of battle without being caught. With how fast-paced assassins usually are, they’re the best heroes for skill expression. Among the many that exist in the game, here are the best assassins in ML.

Hanzo from Mobile Legends plunging his hand into the ground while holding his demonic sword.

Update on July 25, 2025, by Asad Kashif: As more updates roll out and the meta shifts each season, we see many unexpected things. One of these is the addition of Joy among the strongest Junglers, despite her past being riddles with nerfs. This sudden surprise aside, we’ve also seen other heroes performing better than they have in the past, such as Aamon and Nolan. We’ve added these in and updated the existing entries to provide a complete overview of Mobile Legends’s best assassins.

12Hanzo

Assassin heroes are usually played in the Jungle due to their high early-game burst damage and the ability to traverse the map faster than other roles with the help of their mobility skills. In terms of jungling, there’s no hero better fit for the role than Hanzo. His first skill lets him secure jungle monsters without ever killing them, instead absorbing them passively while he can run around to a different Monster and begin attacking it. He can also use the AOE of his second skill to clear multiple camps at once, giving him an even quicker time farming. However, if his potential as a jungler wasn’t enough already, his Ultimate serves as one of the best engage tools in Mobile Legends.

Hanzo’s Ultimate lets him astrally project a demon out of his body to hunt down enemies. This demonic entity has heightened speed and can pass through terrain, making it easier to chase after prey. Hanzo also gains an enhanced set of skills while piloting this demon, becoming a fearsome creature capable of one-shotting the enemyMarksmanwith his real body resting safely inside a turret.

Lancelot from Mobile Legends holding his sword out challenging some thugs in a tavern with a concerned and veiled Odette behind him.

11Lancelot

At first glance, Lancelot may seem like the perfect assassin. In the right hands, he certainly can be. He has absolutely absurd levels of mobility with his skill two, and his skills can negate any form of damage if timed right. With such a good bundle of skills and a passive that boosts your damage up to 40 percent from dashing alone, Lancelot is extremely strong as a solo pick.

However, some problems arise at higher ranks. Lancelot needs to snowball early on, since his jungle clear isn’t that great, and his mobility makes him want to get more gold from ganks. If a Lancelot gets ambushed early and is left behind the enemy team, he can’t catch up as easily as the other entries on this list.

Gusion from Mobile Legends being pointed at by soldiers and wizards for being a rebel.

10Gusion

If you want flashy plays, Gusion is the coolest hero in MLBB. His skill set involves throwing out daggers that he can call back to himself. What makes him so fun to play is that he has infinite ways to reposition himself, meaning he can teleport behind an enemy so the daggers all hit them.

While combining his skill two with his first skill is the most foolproof way to ensure all your daggers pass through the enemy, you can also use your Ultimate’s second phase to dash through an enemy or simply walk behind them.

Aamon from Mobile Legends holding his arm out as telepathic blades surround him.

His skill one throws a damaging dagger that marks an enemy. Upon being recast, you’re able to immediately teleport behind them. This is used in conjunction with his second skill, which throws the aforementioned daggers, to deal high amounts of burst damage. His Ultimate is what takes him from just a fun assassin to one with infinite outplay potential, letting Gusion blink in a direction and gain a second charge on all his skills. This can be used to give him double the amount of daggers at once to burst down high HP targets or to use the two skill casts on different enemies.

9Aamon

Among the many things an assassin needs to perform well, stealth is one of the most necessary. With their low health pools and vulnerability to Crowd Control, assassin heroes can’t stay in fights for as long as other roles. As an assassin, you have to burst the enemy glasscanon down the moment you get into their view and then disappear once more.

Aamon embodies this stealthy approach to assassination, having a passive that renders him completely invisible whenever he uses a skill. This lets him approach the enemy’s strongest DPS without worry and then unleash his barrage of skills on them to get a kill, and then escape using the invisibility from his passive.

Saber from Mobile Legends standing alert in his Onimusha skin.

8Saber

Saber encapsulates what it means to be an assassin. All of his kit revolves around bursting down a single target. He’s a very straightforward character with a point-and-click targeted execute that has a stun that cannot be dodged. However, despite being easy to play, he can compete with the best assassins simply due to how strong his Ultimate is.

His Ultimate is a direct counter to other assassin junglers as well. This is because you need the Purify battle spell to effectively counter him, something that junglers, having to take Retribution for their spell, cannot have. This makes Saber a superb pick against all the other entries on this list, bursting them down before they can do anything to outplay you.

Helcurt from Mobile Legends crouching on a wall and holding his claws over a terrified soldier’s face.

7Helcurt

Helcurt’s revamp burst into the meta like a storm, with every match having this sneaky monster cat roaming around in the dark. However, as people learned how his passive works, he’s not as popular as he once used to be. Still, he’s a solid assassin who can go invisible and execute the enemy team’s marksman or mage in a single hit, with some good utility on his Ultimate as well.

Helcurt’s passive lets him go invisible when he’s out of battle. This invisibility buffs all his skills and is refreshed whenever he gets a takedown. His first skill is a way for him to close gaps, being a dash that puts the Silence status on enemies hit, rendering them unable to cast skills. If cast while invisible, it also Fears enemies, making them walk away from you. This works perfectly with his second skill, a damaging skill that’s quite difficult to aim when the enemy’s moving. All of this, as well as his Ultimate providing a debuff on the entire enemy team, makes him an extremely strong assassin.

Nolan from Mobile Legends looking to the side while holding his weapon.

6Nolan

A scientist, a father, and a character that can dash into your base to one-shot you, there are many adjectives that can describe Nolan. His passive gives him a dash on his autoattacks, and his skills all have some form of mobility on them. If all of this wasn’t enough, Nolan’s skills put down a void mark on the ground when you use them. These can then react with other void marks, dealing absurd amounts of damage and interrupting enemy channels if they hit.

Nolan’s ability to dash every few seconds makes him one of the fastest assassins in Mobile Legends without requiring the same amount of skill as Fanny or Ling. Instead, Nolan can burst down enemies with a few easy-to-learn combos, making him one of the easiest assassins as well.

Joy from Mobile Legends dashing to catch a fleeing bird.

5Joy

Joy has had a less-than-smooth journey throughout her run in Mobile Legends. From one of the strongest heroes upon release to becoming completely unplayable, she’s seen every height and every low. She’s always had the mobility and damage befitting a superb assassin but has consistently landed just one step short of being viable in the meta.

Playing Joy is like playing a rhythm game; to get the most out of her Ultimate, you need to use her second skill at specific times in tune with the music.

Hayabusa from Mobile Legends atop a roof with the moon behind him.

With the Clock of Destiny being revamped and other weapons, like the Wishing Lantern, giving her that extra sustain she needs, Joy can now dance across the battlefield dealing bursts of damage with her Ultimate without immediately dying to an enemy carry. Her second skill gives her plenty of dashes and her Ultimate lets her run over an entire team of squishes without dying, making her a truly fearsome foe.

4Hayabusa

Hayabusa might not have the best roaming mobility, but his dashes let him reposition multiple times in battle. His ultimate also makes it impossible to target him throughout its duration. These two elements of his kit make him one of the hardest assassins to catch off guard.

Hayabusa’s slashes in his Ultimate are random, meaning enemies can stick together to disperse thedamage to their tanksor minions. However, if you’ve hit an enemy with your skill one or they have stacks from your passive, your strikes will prioritize those enemies.

Suyou holding his weapon in the lobby screen of Mobile Legends.

It’s easy to get kills with him as well, as a simple skill one into an Ultimate can delete most squishier heroes on the roster. While there are ways to counter him, namely through Wind of Nature and Winter Truncheon, a good Hayabusa player can bait these out fairly easily. Plus, with the short cooldown on his Ultimate, and with its AOE, you can hop in again before at least one of your targets gets their immunity back.

3Suyou

Assassins are balanced around the fact that, despite having the ability to burst down targets and get in or out of sticky situations easily, they have no means of defending themselves if caught. Suyou, being able to switch between being an assassin or a fighter at will, completely negates this downside.

Suyou’s passive lets him switch between different modes depending on whether you hold your skills or tap them. Tapping any skill puts you in the assassin form, giving you bonus movement speed and letting your attacks pass faster. Other assassin skills focus on executing targets with burst damage and provide no form of sustained damage. However, if you choose to hold any of his skills, he immediately gains a hefty damage reduction, higher base attack, as well as sustained damage on his skills.
