The Silent Hill 2 Remakechanges a lot of things about the legendary game, and while all the bosses still remain the same, the boss fights have been changed quite a bit to become a lot more enjoyable and just as scary and challenging at the same time.

This article will rank all the seven boss fights in the Silent Hill 2 Remake on the basis of how enjoyable they are. We will also be taking into consideration some factors such as how different these fights are from the original game, how difficult they are to complete, and just how scary they are.

The Pyramid Head Boss fight in the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

7Pyramid Head

A Good Warm-Up Battle

Pyramid Head is one of the bosses that you will often come across in Silent Hill 2, but it is the encounter in the Overworld in the Blue Creeks Apartment, where you will have to take on this intense fight. The main concept of this battle is pretty simple and revolves around dodging his attacks while hitting him in his body or his helmet to fight back.

Although this is a decent warm-up fight, it is by far the easiest in the game, and it doesn’t challenge you at all, especially as the goal is just to survive against the terrifying creature, rather than to beat him. All you need to do to beat this boss is just run around him in circles.

Aiming a gun at the Mandarin in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

6Mandarin

An Exclusive Boss Battle

Similarly to the Pyramid Head, you also come across Mandarins throughout the game. Still, there is also a mini-boss fight that you will have to encounter in Lakeview Hotel, which can be slightly difficult. The Mandarin can be one of the most terrifying creatures in the game, and the fact that he crawls on ceilings and can burst through walls makes him even more scary.

Although scary, this is also one of the easier fights in the game, as he only has a couple of attacks, both of which can be easily avoided. Yet the fact that this boss fight wasn’t available in the original game, and is exclusive to the Remake, makes it a cool and fun addition.

5Dual Pyramid Heads

A Much Tougher Encounter

The final encounter with the Pyramid Heads will be in the Otherworld of the Lakeview Hotel, and this will be a much tougher fight as you will have to face two of them simultaneously. These creatures will also be a lot more aggressive and faster, which can make them harder to deal with.

Using weapons such as the Hunting Rifle, and learning how to dodge attacks effectively is the best way to survive against these monsters, while also doing enough damage to take them down slowly.

The first phase of the Flesh Lip fight in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

4Flesh Lip

A Completely Remade Fight

Another one of the most horrifying creatures you will have to come across in Silent Hill 2 is Flesh Lip, which is a boss fight that has beenchanged quite a bit from the original. A lot of this fight is based on shooting the hands of Flesh Lip while it attacks from the ceiling and trying to do as much damage as possible when it’s on the ground.

The second phase of this fight is even more horrifying, as Flesh Lip changes his form to become a Spider-like creature, which is even harder to deal with. This boss fight is a perfect example of a good remake, as it vastly improves on the Flesh Lip fight in the original game while still keeping the same boss.

James aiming a shotgun at Abstract Daddy as he tries to attack him in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

3Abstract Daddy

An Almost Claustrophobic Encounter

The Abstract Daddy fight is also one that has been significantly improved from the original. Not only does this fight take place in one of the scariest parts of the map, but the Abstract Daddy also feels a lot more terrifying due to the revamped graphics of the game and his variety of moves.

The fact that this fight is so long and takes place through several phases is also what makes it so good, as you are constantly trying to escape from this boss and attempting to fight back for a very long time. The narrow hallways of the map, along with the sudden and surprising attacks of the Abstract Daddy make it one of the scariest creatures in the Silent Hill series.

James aiming a gun at Mary in the final boss fight in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

2Mary

The Perfect Final Boss Fight

Another fight that takes place across several phases is against Mary, who you will come acrosstowards the end of the game. This fight is just as emotional as it is terrifying, as James fights a monster-like version of his late wife. In terms of gameplay, this fight feels like a much tougher version of the Flesh Lip fight, as the first phase consists of just dodging her attacks and hitting back when possible, and the second phase where Mary transforms into a spider-like creature.

Mary is one of the fastest bosses in the game, and she can easily catch you off-guard if you aren’t prepared for her. Her abilities such as her leap and her strikes can also be very effective at damaging you from range. This fight is an amazing way to end the game and the fact that you don’t need to worry about saving your ammo and can spam all your bullets into her makes it a lot of fun.

James aiming a shotgun at Eddie as he holds a handgun in the final boss fight in the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

1Eddie

The Creepiest Encounter In The Game

Although it isn’t the final boss fight, the Eddie Dombrowski fight is by far the most unique and exciting encounter in the game. Unlike most boss fights which involve running away from enemies, the first phase of this one involves chasing down Eddie and trying to shoot him. Eddie’s constant commentary, and how easily he manages to disappear, make this a very creepy moment in the game and make Eddie seem a very scary enemy, even though he is the only human antagonist.

The second phase of this fight is even more fun,as the room fills up with fog, and the conveyor belts turn on, making Eddie even tougher to spot. He is also very strong, as his pistol whips or bullets can kill you quite easily, which makes it important to spot him before he finds you. This combination of difficulty, as well as the terrifying nature of this fight, makes this our favorite boss fight in the game by far.
