Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s25th Anniversary Dueling Mirrors Tins are finally here and with them comes a a fresh set of reprints. This is great since some of the more expensive cards will drop in price as they are now available in more than one product. While the common fluff might not be what fans were expecting, the secret rare cards are definitely worth taking a look at.
Some of these reprints include meta staples introduced over the past few years. Some spells can help you boost your consistency and Monsters that you can Summon easily to break your opponent’s most powerful boards. Here are the ten best cards in the 25th anniversary tin, Dueling Mirrors.
10Triple Tactics Thrust
Improve Your Consistency
Triple Tactics Thrust is one of the best generic staples seen in almost every competitive deck. This card allows you to improve your consistency by allowing you to search your deck for a Normal Spell and place it face down on your field.
This card’s last reprint was in Maze of Milleniaand can activate its Effect when your opponent Activates a Monster Effect on your turn. If your opponent also has a Monster out, you’re able to add the card to your hand instead.
9S:P Little Knight
A Generic Link Monster
Generic Monsters that have killer effects make for some ofthe best Extra Deck Monsters. This means they can see play in almost any deck due to the material requirement. S:P Little Knight is a Link-2 Monster that can Banish cards from your opponent’s side of the field.
If used strategically, it can also be used to dodge Targeting Effects as well as a way to interrupt your opponent’s plays during their turn. This card proved to be a meta staple after its first appearance in the Age of Overlord set.
8Chaos Angel
Turns Monsters Into Tuners
Chaos Angel is unique since it turns one of your Light or Dark Monsters into a Tuner for its Summon. This makes it easy to get out with more Monsters qualifying as material. When Synchro Summoned, you can banish a card on the field.
What really gives this Monster its kick is the Effects it gains depending on the material that was used to Summon it. If you used a Light Monster, Monster Effects won’t be able to remove it and if you use a Dark, it gets battle destruction. Having both effects makes Chaos Angel annoying for your opponent to remove.
7Bystial Dis Pater
Watching The Price Drop
Originally released inthe Cyberstorm Access set, Bystial Dis Pater acts as an additional interruption for your end board and an extender for your plays. You can Special Summon a Light or Dark Monster from your banish pile once per turn.
This card has multiple purposes if you can get it out. You need to shuffle back a banished card and shuffle it back into the deck to either negate or destroy a Monster that activated its Effect. This versatility is useful when dealing with a variety of decks.
6Super-Starslayer Ty-Phon Sky Crisis
Shut Down Your Opponent’s Monsters
Super-Starslayer Ty-Phon Sky Crisis is often referred to as the Anti-Zeus. While on the field, any Monster that has 3000 attack points or more gets its Effects shut down. In addition to this Effect, you can also detach one material to bounce a Monster back to the hand.
What makes this card so useful in a variety of decks is that you’re able to use any one Monster as material for its Summon. All you need is for your opponent to Summon two Extra Deck Monsters first for it to go live.
5Theia The Primal Being
Nibiru Awakens
Theia The Primal Being is an interesting new card introduced in the tins that awakens one ofthe best hand traps in the game. It’s no secret that the meteor depicted in Nibiru, The Primal Being contains the Monster itself.
Theia The Primal Being might just be that Monster finally out of the rock. Like Nibiru, it can put a stop to your opponent’s excess Summoning by limiting the number for each player to four while it is on the field. It is a card to keep an eye on.
4Heavy Polymerization
Fuse Using The Extra Deck
Heavy Polymerization is one of the few cards that can use Extra Deck Monsters as material for your Fusion Summons. This card goes well with any Fusion Monster that requires three or more Monsters to make.
While you can use Monsters on the field or your hand for the Fusion Summon, you can also use Extra Deck Monsters by banishing them from your Extra Deck. The only downside is that you will take damage equal to those Monsters attack. You can also only use a number equal to the number of Monsters your opponent has out.
3Diabellstar The Black Witch
Special Summons Itself And Searches
Diabellstar The Black Witch is the face of the Diabellstar engine. While it has many cards that can support it, it also has a great built-in effect. It lets you Special Summon it from your hand by sending a card from your hand or field to the grave.
When Summoned, you can search your deck for a Sinful Spoils Spell or Trap and set it on your field. It can also bring itself back if it gets sent to the graveyard during your opponent’s turn. You can send another card from your hand or field to revive it.
2Bonfire
Search Any Pyro Monster
Bonfire does for Pyro decks the same thing Reinforcement of the Army did for Warriors. It’s just a generic searcher that lets you search your deck for a Level Four or lower Pyro Monster. This is fantastic due to its simple Effect that has no cost.
You don’t have to discard, banish, or tribute anything to get the search off, and it is a fantastic way of boosting the consistency of your deck. This can mean getting your hands on a starter that helps you start your deck’s Pyro engine.
1Trident Dragion
A Must-Have For Tenpai Dragons
Trident Dragion used to be worth pennies, but once Tenpai Dragons were introduced inLegacy of Destruction, the card spiked up in price like ever before. Luckily, the tins include a reprint of the card which will allow more players to finally get that powerful Extra Deck Monster in their arsenal.
Trident Dragion has 3000 attack points and can destroy two other cards you control to gain an additional attack for each. This can easily let you OTK when combined with the Tenpai Dragons, which lets you Summon it out quicker.
