All of this before dealing with the giant, bipedal houses lurking around the map! Who has the time to worry about fishing?
Worry not! We’ve narrowed down the best spots to drop your fishing rod and get some of the essential fish, or even if you just want some cute Koi to place in your fish tanks at home. So, while you’re taking a break from deviant hunting, why not check out the best places to fish and save time?

After each season, you and anything you want to save can be transferred to your home world of Eternaland. Well, not so much home as it is the ultimate storage unit, but the same difference. While waiting to be whisked off for the next season, you can build and craft to your heart’s content, but you can also use your fishing rod here, and catch the following fish.
While you can technically get all the fish that you can while you’re out in the current world, the rate at which you catch fish is abysmal. Making it all the more unfortunate that fishing in Eternaland is the only way to get fish to live inside your permanent abode, permanently.

There’s a reason that you won’t find the Blackheart region rated highly for its fishing. The lands are hostile, and you’ll have to be at least level 55 to move around safely. Then you’ll have to fight infected Monolith creatures and other dangerous creatures waiting to take a bite out of you.
All of this, and for the same fish you can find in other, safer regions? Outside of gathering Mystical crates and tameable animals like the leopard, there isn’t much of a reason, for now, to wander in this area risking your life for fish that may not bite.
5Dayton Wetlands
Coordinates: -5968, -5626 For Freshwater, 7751, -4928 For Saltwater
While you won’t be exactly safe while traversing the wetlands, your chances of getting one-shot or eaten are much lower. There aretwo primary areas primed for learning how to fish: the inland river area near Deadsville, and in the coastal area of Petit Harbor. Some of the fish you can catch here are:

Pompano Barracuda Mackerel Sardine Electric Eel
Being lower-tier fish, you won’t need any lure, a simple live bait or soft plastic will do. Bait is almost universal, outside a few outliers, so stack up on your universal bait until told otherwise, and you’ll be good to go. Bonus, you can use the smaller fish here to catch the larger ones, instead of selling them if you prefer.
4Red Sands Zone
Coordinates - 4991, -1711 For Freshwater, 7255, 95 For Saltwater
This zone isn’t for the weak of heart (or skill). The dangerous wildlife is more than enough to keep you on your toes, but adding all the infected and the zombies near Blackfell Oil Field, you have a recipe for death if you aren’t prepared. Though, you might find some solace closer to the northeast of the area. The fish that reside in the area are:

Mackerel Sardine Barracuda Electric Eel
Again, the focus of preparation, outside your rod, boils down to your lure. Jigs and small plastics work well for your run-of-the-mill catches like carp, but for the hard-to-get fish, such as the barracuda and largemouth black bass, your best bet is Crankbait, which is ideal for both. This place is also ideal for catching Electric Eels at a higher rate.
3Chalk Peak
Coordinates: -178, -2200 For Freshwater, 7688, -3270 For Saltwater
If you aren’t a fan of navigating through tall mountains while fighting for your life, you will have a bad time trying to make it to the teleportation tower in northern Chalk Peak. Once it’s done, feel proud! Now you can take a load off and take in the local fish, including:

Though a little higher level than earlier entries, you don’t have much violence to worry about, as both areas don’t have a lot of traffic in the way of mutants or wildlife. With the wide variety of fish available in this massive area, you’re pretty safe choosing whichever lure you have on hand, so feel free to experiment and see what you’re able to catch!
2Iron River Zone
Coordinates - 5680, -3073 For Freshwater, 7688, - 3270 For Saltwater
A lush forest with even weather, Iron River earns its name from the large river carving the area into two. There are hills and cliffs to traverse through, but nothing as dire as the mountains of the Peak. Both places are relatively easy to navigate and have teleportation towers nearby each fishing spot. Though a little lacking in the rare fish department (outside of events), there’s still plenty here for you to pick up and take home, or eat, if that’s your thing. Maybe take some time and enjoy the scenery, at least while you don’t have Scorchers breathing down your back. Spoon lures, jigs, and soft plastic lures will serve you greatly.
1Broken Delta Zone
Coordinates - 4690, -6710 For Freshwater, 3486, -7256 For Saltwater
Widely regarded as the best place to fish, you have to appreciate the prime setting this is. Idyllic in both looks and circumstances, Broken Delta is a peaceful place for saltwater fish, while for freshwater fish, it is more of a matter of heading to the right pier to avoid raiders and pirates. Hell, the biodiversity of the types of fish alone is worth it:
