If you’re building a French-themed squad inEA Sports FC 25UItimate Team, you must pick the premier French players in each position to assemble your dream team. While each player’s price will be the biggest restrictive factor in selecting the best side you can field, there’s plenty of time to slowly build your Ultimate Team during the year.
While obvious choices like Kylian Mbappe are difficult to add to your side, luckily there are plenty of alternatives if you can’t afford the top option. That being said, some of the best French players in FC 25 are in a league of their own, so it will be difficult to replicate the best qualities of these incredible players.
Only current players are included, not Heroes or Icons.
Four Stars
One Star
Mike Maignan might not have been the first player to cross your mind when sorting through the laundry list of fantastic players from France, but his abilities between the sticks are noteworthy.Maignan boasts the newly added Deflector PlayStyle Plus, which allows him to parry shots into safer spaces or toward teammates with increased speed and control.
Maignan isa fantastic goalkeeper to sign in career modein addition to being one of the best in Ultimate Team.
In addition to his impressive skills defending your goal, he can help you play out from the back with hisSweeper Keeper Role, which allows Maignan to put his excellent weak foot to good use,as he can ping passes with precision.
Kadidiatou Diani is one of the smoothest French players with the ball at her feet, as she boasts an impressive 89 Dribbling stat which allows her to evade defenders and utilize her 91 Pace to sprint in on goal.
Her 86 Shooting and 91 Finishingwill allow Diani to finish the chances she gets with little effort.
Diani’s only weakness (outside a full French team) is her chemistry links, as she needs other French players or women in her league to get full chemistry.Luckily, this can be remedied easilyif you have one of the best French players in EA FC 25 still to come.
Three Stars
On the other hand,Jules Kounde has one of the best linksets in EA FC 25,as Barcelona and La Liga players are popular choices for both men’s and women’s players.
However, Kounde’s synergy with his teammates only scratches the surface of his benefits, as he’s easily one of the most versatile French players to add to your team in FC 25.
Kounde’s primary position is centreback, but hefunctions better as a right-backdue to his solid Pace, but is somewhat inferior in height if you have defenders over 6 feet tall. The Jockey PlayStyle Plusis also an excellent option for keeping attackers pushed to the wings, preventing them from creating chances in the middle of the pitch.
Aurelien Tchouameni is another flexible French player who you can slot into multiple positions to meet your needs appropriately. He canplay in his natural CDM spot, shift to CM, or even drop back to CBif you’re short on defenders or one of yours picks up a red card.
Given his size at 6'2", Tchouameni could do just about anything you need him to, though his talents tend toward the defensive side of the ball.
Five Stars
Karchaoui stands head and shoulders above many of her competitors with hersuperb Dribbling abilities, highlighted by five-star Skill Moves. While you may not usually jump into the play with your defenders, Karchaoui gives you the option and performs well when called upon.
Sadly, her Physical attributes are severely lacking, so you’ll need todefend attackers intelligently, using your positioning and speedto keep them from breaking through for a clear chance.
Theo Hernandez and Sakina Karchaoui are very similar in their Dribbling abilities, making them effective attacking fullbacks. However,Theo Hernandez boasts an impressive combination of Pace, Physical, and Defendingattributes to separate himself.
In addition to his superior Physical presence, Theo’s blistering Pace makes him one of the best French defenders in Ultimate Team considering his well-rounded abilities anddirect link to Mike Maignan.
Two Stars
William Saliba stands out as one of the best centrebacks in FC 25, easily claiming a spot among the best French players due to his access to theAnticipate PlayStyle Plus, which remains one of the best PlayStyle Plus choices after a dominant debut in EA FC 24.
Saliba’s Premier League links make it easy to fit him into most sides, even without other French players to add to your starting 11. Whether you choose Saka or Salah, Gabriel or van Dijk, the array of top-tier choices leaves plenty of room for creativity.
Antoine Griezmann is one of the most meta-relevant players every year, and EA FC 25 offers more of the same, as the Striker provides excellent Shooting abilities with superb Dribbling to wriggle through defenders on his way to putting the ball in the net.
Unfortunately for Griezmann, his Pace isn’t very high and there’s another excellent striker to compete with in La Liga this year, who also supersedes Griezmann on France’s depth chart.
Ferland Mendy’s superb weak foot gives him the edge over players like William Saliba and Theo Hernandez, making Mendy one ofthe best defenders in FC 25.However, while Mendy’s overall rating is noticeably lower than his competitors, he is incredibly effective in-game, as hecontinues to outperform his attributes every year.
While Mendy’s attributes are much lower than a player like Theo Hernandez, hissuperior links, impressive weak foot, and in-game performancemake him a superior choice.
It’s worth noting that, despite their differences, Mendy and Theo Hernandez’s gold cards are priced at roughly the same amounts on the market.
Unsurprisingly, Kylian Mbappé claims the top spot as the best French player in EA Sports FC 25, as he’s alsothe fastest player around.
The list of superlatives goes on and on when it comes to Mbappé, as he’s a game-changing player to add to your side.
While his sky-high cost means most of us can only dream of packing Mbappé and adding him to our starting 11, his reign over Ultimate Team continues, as he’seasily the most desirable Gold Card to get for yet another year.
