When you go out on an epic adventure, sometimes the best friend/ally you can make is a dragon. Dragons can be used as mounts to help you soar across the landscape. They can also be battle companions that you can take to fight side by side.
Having a dragon as a close ally is one of the most epic parts of many fantasy-based RPGs and action adventures. It’s an idea as old as the NES, with games like Golden Axe and Drakengard, that play with the idea of being around these powerful creatures.
WHERE TO PLAY
In the Golden Axe franchise, there are several beasts you may “tame” and ride for several moments on a stage. In Golden Axe 1 and 2, there are two types of flightless bipedal dragons that you can ride after knocking their riders off.
The first and most common type is the blue dragon. They shoot a short burst of flames from up close, burning enemies nearby. The red dragons that can be found and ridden in battle shoot fireballs instead, which can go straight ahead. Both dragons are mostly similar in appearance and animation. The only distinction is their colors and the range of their attacks.
A pair of siblings are left to care for a cafe while their mother has fallen into a deep sleep. In the meantime, the siblings find a dragon egg and raise the hatchling together while managing the cafe. It’s revealed that the mother is a half-dragon and raising the baby dragon is supposed to help her.
Little Dragons Cafe takes the relaxing atmosphere andslice-of-life gameplay popular in farming simulators like the Story of Seasons franchiseand adds a cute dragon that acts as a mascot. Once you’ve grown the dragon to be an adolescent, you can fly on it to find out-of-reach items and travel faster for resources and ingredients.

In a world where two factions of warring humans contest for what little is left after a volcanic apocalypse, there are several types of dragons used as mounts in combat. Their riders are known as “Burners” and they come with different factions depending on the dragon species they have.
Dragons come in various looks and sizes, and their abilities in battle are fairly diverse. The Plains Dragon is the most common and frequently seen among the Burners and Skyguard of Asylia. Our protagonist, Rohn, had an inseparable bond with one of these Plains Dragons.
Unicorn Overlord
Unicorn Overlord is a tactical RPG set in Fevrith, a continent riven by war. As exiled prince Alain, you must gather your allies and attempt to take back your kingdom from General Valmore.
Inthe Drakenhold region,Wyvern Knights and the promoted Wyvern Masterswere amongthe dominant warriors in the air. Unlike Gryphon Knights, they are more resistant to arrows but are much weaker to magical attacks. They are formidable against most ground units andwith the Dragoon’s Warspear, they can dive down and decimate the entire enemy unit.
The Wyvern Knight that can join the Liberation Army is Hilda, who bonded with her wyvern in their youth due to similar circumstances. With her wyvern, she soared as one of the more high-ranking warriors and stubbornly protected her people from a magical plague affecting Drakenhold.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the first of the long-running tactical role-playing series to launch for the Nintendo Switch. On the continent of Fódlan, three nations find themselves at war after a time of peace. Controlling Byleth across both periods, you must choose your path.
Throughout the Fire Emblem series, warriors who have tamed and ridden large dragons have been named many things, thanks to localization changes. Sometimes they’re Dragon Knights, other times Wyvern Riders. But in a majority of these installments, they are highly mobile units armed with axes and lances that can bring down most ground units.
One of the notable riders in Fire Emblem: Three Houses is the mysterious Seteth, second in command of Rhea. Another is Ladislava, commander of the Adrestian Empire, and Claude, the next leader of the Leicester Alliance.
Century: Age of Ashesis a free-to-play multiplayer where you can pick six classes of dragoneers that hatch and control several different types of dragons for each class. Once you pick your dragon and warrior class, you will engage in dogfights and swift raids and attacks in PvP battles.
The classes and dragon types are the following, Marauders that ride viscous Bloodchasers, Windguards and their protective Ironwings, and Phantoms with their dreadful Nightsnaggers. These three are the defaults, and additional classes and dragons added in are the Stormraisers and their Stonesnouts, Thornweavers with their Vinedrakes, and several other flying beasts not associated with a specific class.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the the ninth expansion for Blizzard’s hugely popular MMORPG. Taking place primarily on the Dragon Isles, you must help restore the Dragonflights and their Aspects to their former power. It adds a new race-and-class hybrid, the Dracthyr, and several new dungeons and raids.
Dragons are some of the many fantastic beasts that can be tamed and ridden by the brave champions of Azeroth in World of Warcraft. Over time, there became specific quests and ventures that required dragon companions.With the release of the Dragonflight expansion, there is way more focus and options for dragon riders.
While in the Dragon Isles, navigation with your chosen mounts is much more intensive than base Warcraft’s original flight controls. There is a lot of new lore and contextual information on each of the new elements found in the Dragon Isles that showcase all the new types of dragons and ways to navigate with them.
There are several mounts and buddies available for you to navigate Eorzea. Many of them are dragon-like creatures. Some can fly while others are solely terrestrial. you’re able to have Several types of dragons from the terrestrial drakes, different types of flying wyverns, and Midgardsormr, a massive terrestrial dragon.
There’s also a type of Bahamut, the Apocryphal Bahamut, that is a mount to be rewarded with. When Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter World collaborated, Rathalos, a very dragon-like flying wyvern, crossed over as one of the many mounts you can obtain after the quest to take it on.
The Pokémon series has several dragon-type Pokémon and dragon-like critters to catch and train. One of the most popular dragon-like Pokémon is Charizard, a fire-type Pokémon that’s the final evolution of the Charmander. Other more literal dragon types are Dragonite, Rayquaza, and Salamence.
They are the mostintimidating and imposing of the Pokémon out there, with some of them being legendary creatures. Dragon-type Pokémon are formidable against other dragon types and can withstand several other elemental Pokémon. Weaknesses, however, are the Ice types and fairy-type Pokémon that are effective against them.
In Monster Hunter Stories 2, you can hatch and ride all kinds of dragon-like Monsties. From Rathalos to Astalos and Tigrex, many flying wyverns and dragon-looking brute wyverns can be encountered throughout your adventure.
There are also several Elder Dragons, the enigmatic classification for terrifyingly powerful monsters, like Kushala Daora, Velkhana, and the viscous Nergigante. All these dragon-like beasts make for great battle partners and navigate the locations around the world with many of them being flying mounts for their riders.
