The Ginyu Force is one of the most iconic groups in Dragon Ball Z, known for their flashy poses, unique personalities, and formidable power. InDragon Ball: Sparking Zero, each member of the Ginyu Force brings their own distinct abilities and fighting styles to the game, offering players a variety of options when it comes to combat.
From Captain Ginyu’s body-switching technique to Burter’s incredible speed, every character has something to offer, and a team made up of all of them even has its own unique lines. But if you want to know which member is right for you, then you should get to know each of them better.
5Guldo
Weak Telekinesis
Poor Guldo never stands a chance when compared to the other members of the Ginyu Force, mostly because he barely had any screen time in the original show. He was swiftly slain by Vegeta, since his battle prowess left a lot to be desired.
Outside of combat, we can see how useful a member like Guldo can be, able to paralyze opponents and deal with obstacles without disturbing much of the scene. Unfortunately for the small green man, Sparking Zero is a fighting game, so Guldo will forever remain at the bottom of the barrel.
4Jeice
One Of The Last To Go
Jeice could almost be felt as the second-in-command among the Ginyu Force members, a clever man who holds his Captain’s full trust. However, when it comes to fighting, his biggest appeal is his combination moves with Burter, but he lacks a lot of the individual charm that Burter has.
His design is also too un-alien-like, which sticks out when dealing with a saga set on an alien planet. He manages to stand out even less than Recoome, even though that giant man has features that we’ve seen on Earth, and he isn’t even the largest man seen on the show.
3Recoome
And His Ultra Fighting Bomber
Recoome is one of the most memorable fighters of the Force, helped in no small part by the sheer amount of screen time he had during the Frieza Saga. He is used to show the power levels of the new enemies as he beats everyone down to a pulp, only to be swiftly defeated by the return of Goku.
He acts childish but clearly knows what he is doing and the kind of damage he can do. He is swiftly taken care of by Goku before he can use his final move, but many video games have allowed us to fulfill his dream ofunleashing his ultimate attack, devastating everything around Recoome in a wide area.
Sadly for our knucklehead, we’ve seen our fair share of big, burly men in Dragon Ball’s history both before and after his appearance, so his iconicity starts to fall off as you enter the later sagas. This is without mentioning that his ultimate skill, while it has a hilarious power up, is just an area attack centered around the fighter that is easy to dodge.
2Burter
The Blue Speedster
Burter’s whole thing is speed and teamwork. His ultimate has him perform a joint move with Jeice, the very same one they tried to take down Goku with, and the flashy animations make it one of the better team-up ultimates, right up there withthe likes of the Great Saiyamanand Android 18.
His design is also one of the most striking and alien-like, even though he still has a human-like silhouette. He enjoys himself just as much as Recoome does, but he is way faster than the muscle-bound redhead who needs to charge his attack as if it were a Special Beam Cannon.
While his speed is quickly outmatched in the show, in Sparking Zero, he still looks like one of the fastest fighters around, comparable to even the greatest fighters of the Tournament of Power. After all, even though Dyspo is the latest speedster to appear in Dragon Ball, Burter will forever remain one of the firsts.
1Captain Ginyu
Let’s Swap
Back in the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 days, playing as Ginyu felt worse than playing as Guldo, since he didn’t really have anything going on for him. His visual design is great, clearly trying to show that he is the brains of the group, but he is also meant to be the mightiest, which is never translated as such.
This is because Ginyu was never the strongest. He was the one with the most cunning move: Body Change. He used this against Goku to great effect and ended up being stuck in a frog for decades until Dragon Ball Super got him back into fighting form.
The main reason why he ends up as a disappointment in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is due to his Body Change targeting some random character from the Frieza saga rather than his opponent, something that isn’t in line with what happened in the show, although the idea is somewhat sound.
In Sparking Zero, he uses the full potential of the move: you swap with your opponent, letting them keep your health bar. That turns Ginyu as strong as whoever he’s fighting, for a well-placed Body Change can make you bethe Gogeta that takes the win.
