Haunt’s inConcordhave one goal in mind: sowing discord and destruction in the enemy team. Each and every Haunt is proficient at this, while all playing very differently from each other. Some people are going to prefer one Haunt to another, but in terms of usability, it’s great all-around.
That said, some of the Haunt’s are easier to get the hang of than others. They might all be perfectly viable, but some of them can see success in a wider variety of scenarios. Since all of these characters can be superb in the right hands, they’re ranked by how often you’re going to be able to create the right situation for them to shine.
Hit an enemy with a lunging melee attack
Scourge Star
Throw a star that makes an enemy vulnerable, causing them to take increased damage
Beacon Blades
Enemies hit with your throwing knives are tracked for a short time
Bazz can be anutterly terrifying force to encounter, particularly when you’re a character that doesn’t put out good damage in close range and don’t have backup. Few other characters can dispatch someone as quickly as Bazz can, but only in the right hands. She can be difficult to get the most out of, and in the wrong hands, maybe as well be equipped with toothpicks.
Baz’s weapon is her Carbon Steel Throwing Knives. These do alright damage usually, but require a bit of effort to keep on target because of their travel time. These are not hit-scan projectiles, so you’ll need to lead targets that have some distance. Bazz can lunge toward enemies with her Lunging Strike, dealing a good chunk of damage and working as a good way to finish someone off without having to worry about missing.
Lunging Strike has more range than a normal melee strike, allowing you to close a small gap on an enemy.
The ability that sets Bazz to the next level is her Scourge Star, which is a thrown weapon that makes enemies Vulnerable, meaning any damage dealt to them is amplified. For Bazz to work at her peak, the enemy that she’s ambushing should be hit with this first. Once the enemy is vulnerable, she can absolutely melt them in no time at all, dodging backward around the corner and escaping before their teammates even understand what happened.
Like the other Haunts, Bazz functions best when ambushing enemies. Attack them from a vulnerable side and only pick fights where you have that advantage, and she’s going to be a force of nature. But in a fair fight, Bazz is going to be less effective than some other characters, especially in a team fight.
Allow you to hover in place when in midair
Slam into the ground, dealing damage around where you land
Explosive Jump
Double and Triple jumping causes a small explosion
Roka is a very versatile Haunt, able to hold her own in 1v1 and be effective as part of a team fight, too. She can deal an incredible amount of damage and is the easiest of the Haunt’s to use effectively, not requiring much aiming ability. Roka’s primary weapon is her SAL-98 Light Missile Launcher, which deals heavy explosive damage to an enemy either hit by it or close enough to be dealt the splash damage. Aiming at an enemy for a short time locks these missiles onto them, making it difficult to miss your target.
Roka’s Hover Thrusters need to be used well in order to get the most out of her. That doesn’t mean she needs to hover in the air like a sitting target to get swatted out of the sky. She’s agile, coming with a triple jump and an air dodge, and you’ll need to get comfortable moving through the air with all of these abilities in order to keep yourself from being the primary target.
It will take time to get the hang of all of Roka’s movement, but constant movement helps keep enemies from hitting Roka while her Missile Launcher stays locked on an enemy.
Roka’s Blast Dive slams her down into the ground, dealing damage to enemies in the area. This ability can be used both offensively and defensively; it’s a good way to finish off a target, particularly if you need to reload and they have a sliver of health left. But it can also get you out of dodge with serious swiftness, allowing you to get back into cover and heal instead of falling to the ground, defeated.
Roka has very high damage potential, and can quickly be lethal to other Haunts and enemy Anchors alike. She’s easy to hit your shots with, and the skill ceiling for her mostly revolves around getting adept at using her movement to get yourself in a good position, and out of harm’s way.
1IT-Z
Cosmic Slip
Toss a ball that bounces off of walls; activating the ability again teleports IT-Z to the ball
Scramble Rebound
Throw a ball that hits an enemy, disrupts their weapon, and bounces back towards IT-Z, supercharging her weapon

Dodging or teleporting with Cosmic Slip leaves a decoy in IT-Z’s previous location
IT-Z is much like Bazz, where in the hands of a skilled player, she can be an absolute demon to the other team. But unlike Bazz, IT-Z can be used to some benefit even when you aren’t getting the most out of her. IT-Z comes equipped with an EL/120 Electrostatic SMG, which deals solid damage at close range and is stable enough to use in mid-range, too. Its magazine size is serviceable, and if you’re hitting your shots, most targets should be dead before you have to reload.
The ability IT-Z has that’s going to make her such a difficult target for enemies is her Cosmic Slip, which tosses a ball forward that bounces off of any surface it touches. This ball is active for quite a few seconds, and if IT-Z activates it again, she teleports wherever that ball happens to end up. It’s a great way to test out engagements that might not go your way, a way to plan an escape or a way to get a creative flank off on the enemy team.
If you’re being pursued, toss a Cosmic Slip down one hallway and run down the other. The enemy has to choose which to follow, and whichever hallway they go down, ensure you’re in the other.
IT-Z starts dealing mind-boggling damage once she’s got her Scramble Rebound ability up and running. This throws a different ball forward that disrupts an enemy weapon, then heads back to IT-Z. Once it returns to her, it supercharges her weapon, allowing that weapon to utterly shred enemies. It’s wise to try and start fighting with this ability on its way back to you, ensuring you get the damage advantage as often as you may.
IT-Z thrives on being unpredictable, choosing her moments to strike and making the most of them. With smart use of her Cosmic Slip, she’ll never remain in a vulnerable position for too long, always having an escape route a button press away. And when it comes to damage, when she’s supercharged, she’s going to be able to take any target down without a hint of trouble.
