Deadlock, the third-person MOBA developed byValve Software, pits two teams consisting of six players on either side against each other. Souls are gained in Deadlock by defeating the enemies that accompany both teams, which can be used as a currency to buy items at the in-game shop to upgrade your character.

Farming souls is one of the most basic skills in the game, and the team that farms the most souls will have an advantage over the other. Every character can farm souls, but some characters have an advantage over others. If you’re looking to maximize your souls, consider one of the heroes below.

7Infernus

Damage Over Time

Infernus specializes in persistent area-of-effect damage. This allows him to saturate wide areas of the lane with lingering fire that can quickly chew through large groups of enemies. The damage over time that his attacks apply to enemies affected by his fire means that aiming is less of a priority for this hero.

Infernus accomplishes this without diminishing his ability to deal damage to multiple foes at the same time. This makes Infernus one of the more simple heroes for players who are new to Deadlock. When uncontested, Infernus should have very little trouble controlling his lane and building up a large number of souls.

6McGinnis

Multiple Angles Of Fire

McGinnis excels in her ability to control lanes anddirect the flow of battle, including her ability to farm souls while doing so. The use of her Mini Turret ability allows her to cover a greater area than normal when dealing with waves of foes, and her Medicinal Specter will heal any damage she might take.

The only disadvantage of her Mini Turret is the limited amount of time that it will last before disappearing. The use of her Spectral Wall ability can further funnel enemies to more advantageous positions for her, such as in the line of fire of her turret.

5Viscous

Defense And Mobility

Viscous is a hero that combines defense and maneuverability. Making use of the Splatter ability can leave an area of effect zone that damages and slows enemies, and Puddle Punch will send enemies flying.

The ability to transform into a Goo Ball can be used offensively or defensively, allowing Viscous to quickly exit a fight or roll over foes. In this form, Viscous will resist attacks and gain advanced mobility. High health and defensive options, such as The Cube, allow Viscous to thrive in combat situations.

4Kelvin

Slows Enemies

Kelvin is one of thebest support classesin the game, utilizing his abilities to heal his teammates to keep his team in the fight. But this isn’t Kelvin’s only skill. In addition to healing his team, Kelvin can also use his Frost Grenade and Arctic Beam abilities to damage and slow enemies.

This slowing effect makes them easier targets for other teammates, allowing them to be more easily farmed for souls. Kelvin’s Ice Path ability allows him to quickly move from one lane to another, assisting his team as necessary.

3Seven

Area Of Effect Damage

Seven’s abilities shine when faced with groups of enemies. His Lightning Ball ability can be quickly thrown to deal area-of-effect damage wherever it stops, and also slows enemies when upgraded. Static Charge can only be used against other heroes, but can also stun and damage enemies within the affected area.

Power Surge applies electric damage to your weapon. This damage can bounce from enemy to enemy, making it a good tool for dealing with groups. Storm Cloud is another area of effect tool that can destroy entire waves of enemies at once.

2Lady Geist

Powerful Bombs

Lady Geistcan easily clear out waves of enemies using her Essence Bomb. At the cost of some of her health, this ability will damage enemies inside the radius and can be upgraded to deal additional damage over time.

The rest of Lady Geist’s abilities are primarily meant for dealing with other players, focusing on her ability to steal health. When playing as Lady Geist, Essence Bomb will be your main tool for farming, but it is still a powerful one.

1Haze

Stealth And DPS

Haze can use herspeed and abilitiesto move quickly between lanes and access a large amount of souls. The longer a game goes on, the more of a danger Haze will become. Most of the abilities Haze has available to her are designed for combating the enemy team directly, but can still result in the souls required to purchase the game-changing items that make her so formidable.

The right items will also allow her to farm more efficiently, and can quickly snowball into a victory for your team.
