Mechabellumhas a variety of mechanics that make each battle extremely unique and exciting. It’s all about resource management and strategic planning, from unlocking and leveling dozens of units to buying theirrespective upgrades. Nevertheless, there will be a few times when you’re backed into a corner, so buying items can turn the tide in your favor.
Items are equippable enhancements that provide passive abilities, boosting either offense or strengthening defense. Once purchased, these items can be assigned to specific units, immediately impacting the game. The challenge lies in choosing the right item for the right unit. With 17 different in-game items, this can feel overwhelming, but with careful consideration, you can narrow down the best options and gain the upper hand.
9Improved Firepower Control System
As one of the simplest in-game items, the Improved Firepower Control System canincrease your unit’s attack power by a whopping 70 percent. For just 50 Supply, this item offers incredible value, almostdoubling your mech’s damage output. With smart positioning, it can feel like you’re gaining an extra unit’s worth of firepower.
Though the Improved Firepower Control System can viably work with any mech, it’s most effective when paired withhigh-damage frontrunnerslike Typhoons, Mustangs, Overlords, Vulcans, and Fortresses. Since the item scales withbase attack power, equipping it with offense-focused units is the preferred play.
8Deployment Module
A key strategy in Mechabellum is usingcounter-picksto quickly neutralize powerful enemy units. Since you may’t reposition your mechs beyond the round you buy them, they’re essentially stuck and waiting to be countered. The Deployment Module changes that, allowing you tofreely move and reposition during any deployment phase.
Although it may seem underwhelming that you’re giving this freedom to just a single mech, it’s certainly useful forGiant Units and Crawlers.you may either surprise your opponent by countering their positioning or completely avoid their counter-strategy, nullifying their efforts and resources. It’s a win-win situation for both sides.
7Haste Module
Some units in the game, especiallymelee-based bots like Crawlers and Rhinos, can really benefit from a moderate speed boost. As such, the Haste Module, whichincreases movement speed by five and attack power by 40 percent, is perfect for these mechs.
Movement speed is crucial for chaff because of theirlackluster range. With a bump in speed and firepower, they can contest and reach their intended targets far more easily. Additionally, they canoverpower opposing chaff to gain more ground, allowing them and their supporting units to break through enemy lines consistently.
6Amplifying Core
Unlike the Improved Firepower Control System, the Amplifying Core offers the best of both worlds byraising your unit’s attack power and HP by 50 percent each. Its sheer compatibility and usability with any mech make it the most versatile item in Mechabellum. Once you attach it to a unit, especially onedoing ample damage on the field, the results are clear as day.
This is usually the safest pick compared to other items unless you’re really low on Supply.Aerial units, like Wraiths, Phoenixes, and Overlords, are generally better matches for the Amplifying Core since they need HP and damage to complement each other. Thus, if you’re in a situationwhere your aerial units are being stat-checked, this item can make a big difference.
5Barrier
The Barrier itemgenerates a 60,000 HP shield to protect nearby allies, but it comes with a unique limitation—it can only be equipped on Giant Ground Units, including the Vulcan, Melting Point, Fortress, and Sandworm. Despite this restriction, the item’s synergy with these massive units makes it an incredibly powerful tool.
Compared to the standard Shield Generator, which costs 100 Supply, the Barrier offers 50 percent more HPwithout any added cost and moves with the unit it’s equipped on. Simply, you’re getting 100 Supply worth of protection for free, with the added advantage of mobility, making it even more effective and letting you be more aggressive.
The Barrier does not stack with any pre-existing shields, so it won’t add 60,000 HP to, say, theFortress' built-in shield, which has 40,000 HP.
4Portable Shield
Instead of providing a fixed protection limit like the Barrier, the Portable Shieldabsorbs damage equal to the equipped unit’s HP.This effectively doubles the unit’s durability by focusing all defense on that single mech, as the Portable Shielddoesn’t sustain damage while defending others.
The Barrier, by contrast, serves a different purpose. If you need to protect multiple units, its vast coverage offers stronger defense against enemy fire. However, the Portable Shield is superiorfor concentrated defense on one unit. Realistically, both items go hand-in-hand and are great picks on the battlefield, but the decisive factor when choosing one or the other boils down toquantity over quality.
3Tank Production Line
As the strongest production-based item in the game, the Tank Production Linedeploys two Sledgehammer tanks every 13 seconds, but it is only equipable onGiant Units. While the Steel Ball Production Line might seem superior for producing a stronger unit, the Tank Production Line proves far more effective when paired with Giants.
Apart from theVulcan, most Giant Units have a massive problem with chaff. Once distracted, they become vulnerable to attacks from other Medium and Giant Units.Sledgehammers effectively counter Light Bots, clearing these distractions to synergize perfectly with the mech that produces them.
The Tank Production Line costs200 Supply, making it one of the most expensive items in Mechabellum!
2Absorption Module
When you have a high-performing unit dominating the battlefield, equipping it with alifesteal effectcan make it nearly unstoppable. This is where the Absorption Module shines—a powerful item thatraises the unit’s HP by 30 percentandconverts 90 percent of the damage it deals into health.
You should ideally equip the Absorption Module with a Giant Unit that covers more ground and easily deals with tons of chaff. TheOverlordandFortressare two top candidates for this item, though the Overlord stands out as the best choice. Its ability todecimate ground-based unitsallows it to replenish HP effortlessly, making it even more resilient.
1Nano Repair Kits
Automaticself-healingis perhaps the strongest ability you may give to a powerful unit in Mechabellum, which is why the Nano Repair Kits are such a powerful item. They allow your mech toautomatically recover 4.5 percent of its max HP every second, and when paired with a Giant Unit like an Overlord or Fortress, you can imagine how much enemy firepower you’re recuperating.
This equipment is a solid choice for any high-HP unit, and for just50 Supply, you can basically make a unit unkillable. The Nano Repair Kits are ideal forearly-game playand significantly enhance any non-shielded mechs. Aside from Giant Units, you can add them to Large Units, like Typhoons and Farseers, and still receive a tremendous line of defense.
