Summary

TheYu-Gi-Oh! TCGhas revealed a new archetype known as the Malice (or M∀LICE if you want to use the official term). These cards are based on the classic Alice in Wonderland story with characters such as the White Rabbit. The Cheshire Cat, and even Alice herself. However, this archetype has a twist that combines them with digital malware, thus resulting in some pretty complex card names.

The archetype itself is looking like it might cause waves in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Meta, so if you’re interested in collecting the cards or building a deck around this new archetype, then here is a closer look at the cards releasing in Crossover Breakers. This is every Malice card ranked.

Malice MTP-07 is an interesting card because it’s a Trap that you can activate the same turn that you set it as long as you banish a Malice Monster you control. It allows you to search your deck for a Malice Monster to add to your hand.

If you have a Malice Link Monster on the field, you may banish one card on the field. This is good for board-breaking but isn’t as useful as some of the other cards that do so much more. It is, however, a necessary card for later plays. Luckily, it can also banish itself to get itself where it needs to be.

Grin Without A Cat

Malice GWC-06 can be activated the same turn you set it like the other Malice Traps. It can help you get out a Malice that is stuck in your graveyard or one that is banished but can’t use its own effect to come back again.

If you control a Malice Link Monster, you can also gain Life Points equal to the Summoned Monster’s original attack. Because of the word “then”, you could also bring back a Link Monster with the effect and heal yourself with its attack, since the Life Point gain happens after your Summon.

Twinkling Begins With A “T”

Malice TB-11 is a Trap that lets you Special Summon a Malice Monster from your deck. If your opponent controls three or more cards, you can Special Summon a Malice Link Monster straight from your Extra Deck instead. However, it can’t attack or activate its effect.

This has a multitude of uses from getting more Malice cards on the field or getting a large Link Monster ready for Link climbing. Since decks won’t consist of only Malice cards, it’s nice to be able to see otherMonsters from your Extra Deckfor more flexibility.

Search Your Traps

Malice White Rabbit has three different effects, and one of them can be used if it gets banished. Normal or Special Summoning it gives you immediate value by allowing you to set a Trap from the deck to the field. Because it doesn’t add to hand, it can dodgehand trapslike Droll.

It cannot take battle damage against Malice Link Monsters that point to it which is great for mirror matches if this archetype takes off. Finally, if it gets Banished you’re able to Special Summon it for only 300 Life Points, making it usable under Dimension Shifter.

5Malice Cheshire Cat

Banish One To Draw Two

Malice Monsters love being banished, and Malice Cheshire Cat is no different. However, Cheshire Cat can also let you banish another Malice Monster from your hand to draw two cards. Seeing how the archetype works, this is a completely busted effect.

Malice Monsters can easily come back if they get banished, so with the right hand, this card is essentially a free Pot of Greed. If a Malice Link Monster points to Cheshire Cat, that Monster can banish any Monster it destroys by battle.

Makes Every Card Accessible

Malice Dormouse might be one of the best Summons in the archetype. It can banish any Malice Monster from the deck, allowing you to Special Summon it by paying the 300 Life Point cost.

Since this covers the entire archetype, it becomes very easy to pick and choose what you want on your side of the field without actually drawing into it. In addition to this, Malice Monsters you control gain 600 attack for the rest of the turn and if a Link Monster later points to it, that Monster cannot be destroyed by card effects.

The Perfect Field Spell

Malice in Underground is a fantastic Field Spell for the archetype. It searches for Malice cards without actually adding them to your hand but banishing them instead. This allows their effects to kick off or to set up your Banish Zone.

The card also helps your Malice Link Monsters by giving them a 3000 attack power boost when you have three or more banished Malice Traps with different names. Also, it gives them targeting protection from card effects which is a neat little addition to keep them on the field longer.

Turns Stats Topsy Turvy

Malice Red Ransom is a Link-3 of the archetype. On Summon, it can add a Malice Spell from your deck to your hand, which is a neat search ability. It also has a Sword and Shield effect fromDuel Monsterswhere, as long as it points to a Monster, your opponent’s Monsters get their attack and defense stats switched.

If Malice Red Ransom gets banished, you can pay 900 Life Points to bring it back. In addition to this, you can banish a Cyberse Monster from your deck, giving you yet another extender.

Banishes Monsters And Buffs Itself

Malice Hearts of Crypter is the Boss Monster for the Malice archetype. It’s a Link-3 Monster with only two effects. Luckily, it can get additional protection with the other Malice cards using their own abilities to buff it up.

As a Quick Effect, you can target a banished Malice card, souffle it into the deck, and then banish one card on the field. If this card points to a Monster, the effect cannot be negated. Like the other Malice Monsters, it can come back if banished but also gets double its original attack.
