TheLego FortniteLost Isles update added quite a bit of content to the game, expanding plenty of existing systems in the game and adding some entirely new ones. It’s one of the heftiest content updates to the game since launch, making for an update thatplayers new and oldare going to take notice of.
From new biomes set on an entirely new island reached by taking the battle bus to new weapons, food, crops, and a way to upgrade tools and weapons, there’s plenty to see and lots to work towards.
6The Lost Isles
TheBattle Bus has a new location to reach, and that is The Lost Isles. On those Lost-but-newly-found Isles are five new biomes, all of which add some much-needed variety and color to the existing biomes in Lego Fortnite. While the Lost Isles is not huge in comparison to the rest of the Lego Fortnite world, it certainly has a lot going on and is a location well worth visiting on the regular.
These new biomes include the Beach, the Jungle, the Mountains, the Floating Islands, and the Plains. All of these Biomes have something on them that cannot be found elsewhere in the world, such as new NPCs, new vegetation, or new items in special chests. For example, the Plains are the home of the friendly tribe of Peelies, while the Beach might pose a bit more of a challenge, what with the Pirates wandering around.
5New Food
In these new biomes, there are some new things to collect, one of which is the new food. Three of the new biomes include new food items, all of which you can grow back on the mainland on a farm. They even have different cooking recipes to make different dishes.
On the Beach, you’ll find bananas and coconuts, which can both be used in a variety of ways; the banana can be used to make banana pancakes, for example. The Plains contains pineapples and klomberries (which you’ll need to tame the new creature), and the Jungle contains tomatoes.
4New Weapons
There are a few weapons added in the Lost Isles update, some of which add some new ways to fight. There are both new melee and ranged weapons, plus one weapon that bridges the gap between the two, capable of both. (Just don’t lose track of where you threw it, or you might be on your way to the Crafting Bench to make a new one.)
The Machete is pretty standard fare; you slice things with it. But there are some really inventive additions, too, like the Boom Shield, which detonates dynamite on the enemy-end of a shield upon contact. Also included is the Throwing Spear, which can be used for melee or ranged, the Pirate Musket, and the Flint-Knock Pistol. These ranged weapons don’t have a great amount of durability, but they pack a real punch.
3Rune Forge
The Rune Forge is one of the most exciting additions in The Lost Isles update, allowing players to enhance tools and weapons with added effects, much like Minecraft’s Enchanting Table. These Runes are collected by opening chests in certain areas of The Lost Isles; some of these chests contain books, and reading these books gives you random Runes you can use. There are Level 1-Level 3 versions of these Runes to collect, and the collection of each is random.
These Runes really allow you to make each weapon and tool yours, giving you the chance to pick and choose what effect(s) you would like. you may have two very different versions of what would otherwise be the same weapon or tool. Adding these Runes to your item takes essence, a currency you collect for doing a lot of different things in the world, like killing enemies and harvesting certain resources.
Harvesting crops that give you vines gives you one essence each; an easy way to farm quite a bit of essence would be to make a big farm full of crops like corn.
2Klombo
The Klombo is a new creature that spawns exclusively in The Lost Isles. Be warned: the Klombo is not necessarily friendly by default, and might, in fact, attempt to do irreparable harm to those in its immediate vicinity, as well as serious damage to any structure that’s unfortunate enough to be around.
Feeding a Klombo a klomberry is a lot like giving a Cuckoo Cocoa Puffs, and it’s going to endear the Klombo to you, making it friendly. Once the Klombo is friendly, it’s also rideable, meaning you can really start moving around in style.
1Lego Pass / Challenges
The Lost Isles update also added a Lego Pass, much like a Battle Pass, but specifically with Lego rewards. These rewards are pretty nice and have a free track and a paid track; all players will acquire the free stuff they earn and will have to purchase the pass to unlock the paid content.
Leveling through the Lego Pass is done by completing certain challenges. There are daily challenges that rotate each day and award progress towards the pass, as well as longer challenges that award even more progress. Sometimes, in an open-ended game like Lego Fortnite, it can be nice to have these challenges to work towards, giving a little bit of direction when you’re between goals and looking for something to do.
