Deadlockis a game with many secrets and tricks that aren’t the easiest for newer players to figure out. Due to the complex nature of this game, it is impossible to find out everything by yourself, and you have to rely on learning some pro tips from more experienced players to get better at the game.

This list will go over some of the best pro tips we have learned from pro players and from our experiences playing the game as well. All these tips will help improve your overall gameplay and make you win a lot of games.

9Keeping Track Of Enemy Items

Stay Aware Of Everything

Deadlock can be quite a complicated game at times, and one thing newer players don’t realize is that it is just as important to keep an eye out on your enemies' souls to figure out how many items they can have or how close theyare to their ultimates.

This is especially important when you are in the laning phase, as you will have to try and get to your ultimates quicker than your direct opponents if you want to win-out your battles. While just looking at the enemy bar on the top of your screen will tell you how many souls they have, you may also hover on this bar with your cursor to see their complete builds and figure out their game plan.

8Break Vending Machines And Boxes

A Worthwhile Trade

Vending Machines are a fun and unique part of Deadlock that you can break to get some souls in return. The only catch is that you will sacrifice your HP in exchange for these souls. A light melee attack will cost you less HP, and a heavy attack will take a lot more of it while giving you more souls.

You don’t have to go out of your way to break these boxes, as it is not worth the time. Instead, you should just do it while you’re switching lanes or whenever you’re in those parts of the map.

Similarly, there are also boxes laid out throughout the map that you might have chosen to ignore but which can actually give you souls in return, which can be of great use, even if they may not be too many,

7Utilize Special Movement Abilities

A Big Difference Maker

There are a lot of special moves that you can do in Deadlock to make you harder to hit and get you out of trouble. Most of them are used with the help of the stamina bar right next to your crosshair, which is different depending on which heroes you are choosing.

Special moves such as dash-slides, jumping out of slides, crouching, and then dashing to get off ziplines, which gives you an additional boost, and many other such cool hero-specific abilities that will help you become a much better player are things you will only find by experimenting in-game or looking them up online.

6Experiment With Builds

Try Out Everything

This might be a simple tip, but one that we believe a lot of players would benefit from. If you don’t have a good idea of what you want your builds to be like, then you are much better off looking up custom builds in the browse builds section to use some that other players have made.

Just bear in mind that these builds aren’t always the greatest, even if they have a lot of likes, and even in this, you will have to be a little bit mindful of what you are choosing. But experimenting with different ones and finding the right ones for you is always a good strategy that you can’t go wrong with.

5Soul Urn Tricks

An Easier Way To Secure The Urns

Another thing thatnew playersoften seem to miss out on are the Spirit or Soul Urns, which are useful side-objectives that can change the course of the game. All you have to do is collect these urns and deposit them on the altars on the other sides of the map without dying.

Once you manage to do this successfully, you will be able to get an additional 25% extra souls for your teammates as well as ability points. A really useful tip while trying to retrieve a Spirit Urn is to use an ability before picking one up, as you won’t be able to use any abilities after you have collected an urn. You can also plan with your teammates to use their abilities to help you out, such as Ivy’s Air Drop or Kelvin’s Ice Paths.

4Stay On The Ziplines While Accessing The Store

Become More Efficient

This might be a very minor thing, but we have seen so many people jumping down into the store when they’re on their way back to buy some items. While this isn’t really bad, you can be a lot more effective with your time and just stay on the zipline the whole time.

Opening the buy menu when you’re heading back into the store and making quick purchases while on the zipline itself will save you quite a lot of time over the course of a game, and it might just be the difference between getting a win or not.

3The Seven Ivy Combo

The Strongest Combination In Deadlock

As of now,Seven is probably the strongest hero in the game, especially considering how strong his ultimate ability, Storm Cloud, is. But what many people don’t know is that you can combine this ultimate with Ivy’s Air Drop to make it even stronger and potentially defeat groups of enemies within seconds.

Ivy can move Seven around in the air, which makes them very tough to hit, and he can keep on using his ultimate and causing loads of damage. Although there is a chance this will get patched in the future, it is for sure one of, if not the best combo in the game right now.

2Slide For Extra Ammo

A Unique Mechanic

One of the most overpowered things about sliding in Deadlock is that you have unlimited ammo while you are doing so. This is avery interesting mechanicthat we don’t get to see in many games, so it’s understandable that many players don’t know how to make good use of it just yet.

This can be very helpful when you are down to your last bullets and want to finish off a player before taking the time to reload your weapon. This mechanic is active even if you are down to a single bullet in your gun, but it won’t work if you have started reloading.

1Punch The Objectives

An Unusual But Effective Method

If there’s one thing we learned from watching pro players, it’s that they punch the jungle mobs, troopers, guardians, and the mid-boss a lot more than normal players do. Heavy melee attacks can be very lethal, and it is much easier to pull them off against these creatures, even though we wouldn’t recommend them against other players.

This strategy is even more viable in the early-game, as your punches do a lot more damage during that time. Just be careful not to over-extend too much, as the Guardians can still be very dangerous, and there is also a chance of your enemies showing up at any time.
