The Sims 4gives you the ability to havea proper Halloween celebration(well, Spooky Day celebration) with the Seasons DLC. If you have the Spooky Stuff DLC, you’re given even more options in terms of decor, but hardcore simmers will probably want more. There’s always an excuse for your next CC binge.

It’s important to distinguish Halloween content from regular horror-themed offerings. The Sims 4 has a community churning out tons of scary CC every week, but Halloween-specific items are a bit harder to find. That being said, this list is a great place to get your Spooky Day prep started.

A jar of candy corn in The Sims 4.

9Jar Of Candy Corn

This decorative jar isn’t consumable, but that’s okay: nobody actually eats candy corn anyway. Despite their sickly-sweet taste and frankly disgusting texture, these abominable confections have been a staple of Halloween celebrations since dinosaurs roamed the earth. As such, you’re bound to find them in just about every candy dish when spooky season rolls around.

For almost a decade, your Sims lived blissfully in a world untainted by the presence of candy corn. But you are a cruel and uncaring Watcher, and you can’t resist the allure of more random clutter items to make your houses look more lived-in. Go ahead. Download the candy corn. Watch your Sims suffer.

A selection of Halloween-themed iced teas in Mason jars for The Sims 4.

8Spooky Iced Teas

While there’s a small but dedicated group of simmerscreating custom recipes, buyable foods are far more common in the custom content world. These delectable treats can be purchased for any event or party, giving your Sims something to snack on without the hassle of cooking.

These iced teas from Hydra are absolutely adorable, coming in decorative jars themed after a variety of Halloween creatures. They’re great for your next costume party or movie night, and they taste as good as they look (at least to your Sims.) That being said, they also work great as a clutter item.

An old key, a deck of tarot cards, a curio box, and a decorative coffin for The Sims 4.

7Agora Decor Set

There aren’t many options for those who want to add some class to their Halloween decor. If you’re not a big fan of pumpkins and giant lawn skeletons, you might be hard-pressed to find custom content that speaks to you. But Mechtasims has managed to deliver, and alpha-textured custom content fans are eating well.

A few different decorative objects are included in this set, including a deck of tarot cards, a mysterious rusty key, and a coffin. Halloween is the perfect occasion to decorate your home with these items, but you can also use them as clutter objectsfor vampire andspellcaster Sims.

A collection of mugs and other clutter items for The Sims 4.

6ATS4 Halloween Clutter

If there’s one certainty in this world, it’s that Around the Sims 4 never fails to deliver when it comes to clutter objects. This site has been your one-stop shop for more down-to-earth decor since the first days of the game, helping simmers the world over make their Sims' homes feel more lived-in.

The star of the show is the wide array of Halloween mugs that come with this set, which are available both empty and filled with delicious seasonal beverages. You can also shower your kids and dogs with Halloween-themed toys, including a skeleton, a black cat, Frankenstein’s monster, and eyeball, and…corn?

Witchy and occult themed clutter books for The Sims 4.

5Love Spells and Occult Books

For those of you who prefer a more realistic texture to their custom content, the options can be pretty dire. Luckily, Hydra has been hard at work with alpha decor for your downloading pleasure. These occult items are great for anyone who wants to add a more subtle spooky ambience to their home.

If you have any spellcasting Sims in your household, this set is great to make their home just a little more witchy. None of the books and spells are functional, but that shouldn’t matter too much. If there’s one thing Sims 4 players love, it’s more clutter items for their Sims' homes.

Spooky Halloween toys for The Sims 4.

4Halloween Toys

Around the Sims 4 might be best-known for its decorative and clutter objects, but it’s also home to several toys to make your Sims' childhoods just a little more sweet. When trick-or-treating is over, your kids can burn their well-earned sugar highs by playing with these adorable Halloween toys.

While there are a few purely decorative objects in this set, most of the items can also act as functional toys. Perhaps the best item is the spooky dollhouse, which looks equally at home in a kids' room as it does on your Sims' mantle. The ghosts and spider toys are also just plain adorable.

A handmade paper garland depicting bats and Halloween ghosts in The Sims 4.

3Bats And Ghosts Garland

It’s always nice to have a few simple decorations on hand for parties. While the Seasons DLC provides players with colorful paper garlands and streamers, there isn’t anything along those lines that screams “Halloween”. This adorable garland from vintage-simmer is a great way to fill that void.

Sure, you might not have much in the way of color options, but the great thing about decorations like this is their ability to match just about any Halloween aesthetic. That being said, this looks great in more homey spaces, where you can pass it off as a kid’s craft project.

2Animal Crossing Halloween Set

Fandom-related custom content is always a blast to find, but nobody was expecting Animal Crossing items to make an appearance. The Halloween items you can obtain in New Horizons are downright adorable, and there’s a large overlap between the player bases of both Animal Crossing and The Sims. In retrospect, this crossover is only natural.

The recreations you can download for your Sims 4 game are surprisingly true to Animal Crossing’s graphical style, even if they’ve been tweaked a bit so as not to appear too jarring in The Sims. Perhaps the most impressive piece is the spooky carriage: it may not be a functional vehicle, but it sure is cute.

1SimderTalia’s 2022 Simblreen Set

Sure, this may not be the most dramatic piece of custom content out there, but it’s great in terms of versatility. Custom content that looks like something a real person might actually have in their home is always welcome, and these adorable Halloween knickknacks will have you filled with nostalgia.

The porch decorations aren’t particularly scary, falling more into the category of cutesy fall-themed decorations you might see at your grandma’s house. There’s also a selection of Halloween-themed dolls to put on your Sims' collectible shelf or use as clutter for a kid’s room.
