As far as Anime games go, Dragon Ball is a very popular topic onRoblox- and Dragon Ball Rage is among the first Dragon Ball games on the platform, and an inspiration for many to come. In Dragon Ball Rage, you’ll see yourself advancing through many transformations, abilities, and worlds you’ve come to know and love from the show.
As you advance through different abilities, you might wonder which abilities are best for combat. We’ve formed a list of the best and worst abilities that you can obtain outside of events, and which you should have in your loadout. Let’s dive in!
How Our Ranking Was Determined
We have sorted these ranks depending on a few factors:
The list will sort all abilities into tiers, including the melee and the Ki-based ones.Modes will not be included, as they’re simply a progression system, and in combat you should always use your best available one.
Note that each tier representsthe value of the combat ability, but being higher on the list in a particular tier does not make it necessarily better than the others of the same tier. Here is what these tiers represent:
S Tier
This tier is for the best of the best, and, if you have these abilities unlocked, we recommend them for almost any occasion.
A Tier
This tier has great choicesand can work if you don’t have any S tier abilities unlocked.
B Tier
The abilities in this tier aresituational abilitiesthat only serve their purpose in select circumstances.
C Tier
This tier is for abilities you shouldonly use if you don’t have any othersto pick from.
F Tier
Abilities in this tier are considered tonot be worth picking up. Their damage simply can’t be used in combat effectively.
S-Tier - The Best
For general use, these abilities are the best, as they are good against bosses, players, and regular enemies. With so many to choose from, it can be confusing to pick which ones to use and which ones to avoid, butyou can’t miss picking any of these.
Attacks of this tier arehard to miss, as long as you’re locked onto your opponent.
Requirements to unlock
God Breaker
45k Agility, 40k Defense, 110k Attack, 110k Ki.
The best melee ability by far, exceeding the damage of almost every other ability in the game. It takes into consideration your Ki and Attack stats when executing, dealingdevastating damage.
Energy Volley
3k in all stats.
Amazing starting ability, being able to dish out tons of damage with a short cooldown.Very easy to hit, costing very little Energy - it’s the first ability you unlock, andit’s baffling how good it isfor your entire playthrough.
Blades of Judgement
Mastering SSJW.
Being thebetter alternative to Energy Volley, you can obtain it very late into the game. That said, it can be consideredthe best Energy abilityin the game, hands down.
A-Tier - Great Choices
With S tier having so little to pick from, once they’re on cooldown, you’re going to be fresh out of abilities to use. This tier is here to provide alternatives you may usein the meantime,or just good alternatives in general. These attacks aregenerally harder to hit, so you will have to practice a bit beforehand.
Rose Kamehameha
8 Zenkai Boosts, 35M in all stats.
The best beam in the game, out-damaging all others. It isn’t perfect for every situation, such as high-speed PvP battles, but if you’re able to land it,it will be devastating.
Big Bang Attack
500k in all stats.
Avery quick but effectiveKi blast that deals a lot of damage, great for initiating fights.
Supernova
3 Zenkai Boosts, 6M in all stats.
One of the fastest, andthe biggest, attacks in the game - it summons a giant ball of energy capable of deleting everything in its path. Its only downside is thespeed at which it travels, which is not very high.
Counter Slam
65k in Agility, 10k in Defense, and 50k in Attack and Ki.
A melee move thatteleports you to your enemyto execute the attack, and in the process deals a lot of damage - it’s amazing for combos.
Perfect Transmission
1M in all stats.
Immediatelyteleports you to your opponent, even at a large distance, which is great for chaining close-range melee attacks. This ability can also be used whenroaming the world, as it teleports you in the direction you’re facing, so we recommendalways having it equippedif you’ve unlocked it.
B Tier - Situationally Good Picks
This tier consists of attacks that are either goodin specific situations, or aregood alternatives to attacksyou’ll unlock later in the game. These attacks are not easy to hit, so use them sparingly in fights.
Final Kamehameha
7 Zenkai Boosts, 25M in all stats.
If your opponent is caught off guard, this dealsalmost as much damageas the Rose Kamehameha, with a slightly longer windup.
Death Beam
1 Zenkai Boost, 1M in all stats.
Another quick ability, with generally lower damage butinstant execution. This isthe fastest abilityin the game.
Spirit Bomb
1 Zenkai Boost, 1M in Agility and Defense, 2M in Attack, and 3M in Ki.
Not as fast or as quick as the Supernova, this attack functions very similarly. Itswindup is far longer, but thedamage is far greaterin return.
Bone Crush
20k in Agility, 10k in Attack, and 500 in Ki.
You have tobe extremely closeto the target to execute this ability, but itdeals a lot of damageif you do manage to execute it.
High Speed Rush
20k in Agility, 2,5k in Defense, 22k in Attack and 1.5k in Ki.
Long cooldown, paired with avery short range. This melee ability can deal a lot of damage if executed, but it is pretty situational.
Grand Slam
30M in all stats.
A longer-ranged melee ability, with asurprising amount of damage. If you’re close enough to execute it, it can be great forending a combo.
Transmission
500k in Agility and Ki, 200k in Defense and 20k in Attack.
Being aweaker Perfect Transmission, it is still very useful if you don’t yet have the aforementioned.
C Tier - Barely Viable Abilities
These abilities aremostly early-gameand are not good alternatives to existing ones. If you’re just starting, these could be in your loadout but shouldn’t be relied on. Theyaren’t easy to hit, but we also feel like a successful execution of themdoesn’t reward you with enough damageto compensate.
Masenko
75k in all stats.
Low damage, fast wind-up, low energy requirement. It’s not a great choice, but it will do if youdon’t have an alternative.
Super Kamehameha
100k in all stats.
It deals more damage than Masenko, with a slower wind-up. It’s not a good beam attack, butan alternative to consider.
Omega Cannon
2 Zenkai Boosts, 2M in all stats.
Aworse version of the Big Bang Attack, with higher requirements to unlock. If you like the play style of using Big Bang Attacks, this could be used insteadwhen the other is on cooldown, but it has lower damage than the aforementioned.
Blast Zone Attack
35k in all stats.
A slow attack, with not a lot of damage behind it. It can be viable in builds, but with so many other better options, it’s hard to place it any higher.
F Tier - Not Viable
These abilities arenot viable in any situation, even for beginners. They are generally the first abilities you’ll unlock, and within a couple of minutes of playing, are replaced by a better alternative… though, some are just plain bad for their requirements.
Kamehameha
25k in all stats.
The first beam you’ll unlock, and sadly it’snot very good. Slow wind-up, with a disappointing amount of damage. Once you’ve advanced even a bit, look into different abilities.
Galick Gun
50k in all stats.
Same situation as the Kamehameha, but witheven lower damage. If you’re able to, use something else.
Dirty Fireworks
15k in Agility, 10k in Defense, and 75k in Attack and Ki.
The worst melee abilityby far, with a very small range and vastly underwhelming damage.
Kamehameha x10
2 Zenkai Boosts, 2.5M in all stats.
The same damage as Kamehameha, but with way higher requirements. It’s a re-skin of the original, withno added benefits.
Final Flash
3 Zenkai Boosts, 4M in all stats.
Theslowest beam in the game, with thelowest damageout of any ability. Four regular Ki blasts out-damage this beam, making it very hard to recommend to anyone.
