It’s not a hidden fact thatHonkai: Star Rail’sgameplay is heavily impacted by the teams you use with specific characters. While some characters have less of an effect from their team members, others can have their value decrease significantly, and Rappa is unfortunately the latter type.
She’s a five-star Erudition character having Imaginary as her combat type, and she relies on Break DMG for most of her DPS. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of supports for this play style, limiting her team options significantly.
Lingsha
Healer/Sub-DPS
If you haveFirefly on your account, you’re likely not surprised by this team as it’s currently thebest team for any Break-Based DPS units. Apart from Rappa, Lingsha is the most recent addition to this and she’s like the final piece to the puzzle. Lingsha has a follow-up attack that consistently breaks the enemy’s Toughness.
Other than that, she can attack all enemies with both her Skill and Ultimate as well. As long as the enemy has Fire Weakness, Lingsha will be one of your major sources of deleting the enemy Toughnesson this team. Apart from all this, she also performs both single-target and party-wide healing, keeping your team alive.
While Lingsha’s value in the team drops significantly without Fire Weakness, she’sstill good enough to be usedas a healer.
Ruan Mei’s role in the team is essentially to increase the Weakness Break Efficiency of the team while also making itmore difficult for the enemy to recover from their broken weakness. On the other hand, the Trailblazer can cause extra instances of Super Break DMG with their Ultimate, enabling both Rappa and Lingsha.
The shared combat type with the Trailblazer also helps Rappabreak the enemies' weakness quicker. Once you have the buffs from all these characters, you’ll commonly see Rappa dealing over 200,000 DMG even withan F2P-friendly build.
DEF shredder
Gallagher
Healer
Talking about F2P-friendly things, this will be your best team if you’re relatively new to the game and don’t have all the limited five-star units. Of course, ifyou have Ruan Meior Lingsha, you can easilyreplace them with Pela or Gallagher respectively to get far more value.
Harmony Trailblazer can be acquired for free either through the main story or byheading over to the event tab and skipping things. Pela’s main role in this team is to shred the enemy’s DEF to increase Rappa’s damage, but she can also deal decent Toughness DMG if the enemy has Ice weakness.
It’s recommended to use Pela’s basic attack in this team anduse Trailblazer’s Skill more oftento get higher Toughness damage.
While Gallagher can deal some damage with her Ultimate and buffed Basic Attack afterward, he’s mainly in this team to keep it alive. If you don’t have enough sustain with him, you cantry to use characters like Aventurine, Luocha, or Lynx instead.
Support/Sub-DPS
While this team might seem like a bit of a meme after looking at the characters and their roles in it,it’s so much more than that if you meet certain conditions. It’s an undoubted fact that both Rappa and Firefly are one of the top DPS units in the game as long as the enemy can’t hide its weakness.
While Rappa does need the enemy to have Imaginary Weakness to an extent, it’s not the same for Firefly, and that’s where the idea of this team comes from. As long as you have Imaginary Weakness, you can apply the Fire one with Firefly’s Skill in the buffed state, which will allow all four of your characters to tear through the enemy’s Toughness.
While this might go a little slowerdue to no Weakness Break Efficiency, the extra attacks will make up for it.
The main problem with this team, as you’re able to probably already tell, will be the skill points. Firefly needs to use Skill Points in almost every turn while Rappa doesn’t generate any for the most part. You’d also want to use Lingsha’s skill whenever she gets a turn, even though this isn’t a necessity.
To solve this problem, you’ll need specific light cones that canregenerate Skill Points like Bronya’s and Ruan Mei’s signature. You’ll also have to use Trailblazer’s basic attack every time they get a turn, even if you have some Skill Points.
