Summary
Vyse is one of the coolest agents to be added toValorant, whether it be in terms of her unique design or her interesting abilities. Although she is classed as a Sentinel type Agent, her abilities allow her to be much more aggressive and also work similarly to an Initiator as well.
As she is so unique, you can’t just play Vyse like you would play other passive sentinel agents such as Cypher and Killjoy, and you need to be much more clever with your ability usage. This article will tell you all you need to know about Vyse and how you can use her effectively to win more ranked games and level up.
7Be More Aggressive
As we said before, Vyse is not your typical Sentinel, and while you can just sit back on your sites and wait for your opponents to walk into your setup, she can be much more useful than that. Apart from her wall, all three of her abilities can help you take control of certain areas, whether it be on attack or defense.
Her Razorvine is a great way to clear corners, and her Arc Rose or her flash can be used individually or with teammates to enter sites or retake parts of the map. Her Steel Garden is also one of thebest aggressive ultimates in the game, and using it just to hold down sites is not ideal.
6Combine Your Utility
We can’t stress enough how important it is tocombine Vyse’s abilities with your teammates. A well-timed Razorvine combined with a Raze Grenade can easily take out a whole team of your opponents and win you so many rounds without even having to use a weapon.
Her Shear or her wall is also perfect for this, as you can isolate opponents, then use your Arc Rose to flash them and get easy picks. You can also pair other abilities, such as a Brimstone’s Orbital Strike or a Sova’s Hunter’s Fury, to completely decimate the opposition.
5Use Her Flash For Info
One of the things that so many people tend to overlook with Vyse is the fact that her Arc Rose or her flash can provide information as well as flash the opponent team. Vyse says a specific voice line of “Good Hit” when her flash catches someone. This makes itone of the rare flashes in the game that also has additional uses, along withGekko’s Dizzy and Skye’s Guiding Light.
Some of the best ways you can use the Arc Rose is for entering sites, as it can provide info as well as flash opponents. It can also be a great way of getting information on defense without having to use initiator utilities such as Sova’s Recon Bolts or Gekko’s Dizzy.
4Be Creative With Your Setups
Like we said before, playing Vyse isn’t as easy as just placing your wall towards the entrance of a site and throwing your Razorvines toward chokepoints. You can get a lot more value out of her kit if you look up some setups online or just be more creative with her utility.
Having some unexpected setups is the best way to catch your opponents off-guard, as half of Vyse’s kit can be shot or destroyed by utility. These setups also make it much easier to isolate your opponents and get easy kills.
3Save Steel Garden For The Right Moment
While we’d usually suggest using your ultimates whenever you feel like it, Steel Garden is a little bit different, and the best way to get value out of it is by catching all of your opponents within its radius. As such, the best way to use it on defense rounds is probably on retakes. On attacks, it’s while entering sites.
Abilities such as Chamber’s Tour De Force and Jett’s Blade Storms don’t count as primary weapons, and they aren’t disabled by using the Steel Garden.
Another tip that we probably shouldn’t have to say is that you should avoid using this Ultimate on anti-eco rounds, as it kinda defeats its purpose. Although, using it on your eco rounds can be a good shout as it can even the playing field for a while and allow you topickup better weapons if you get the kills.
2Pair Her Up With Another Sentinel
No matter how many Sentinels this game adds,Killjoy and Cypherseem to be irreplaceable, and for good reason. Vyse is not the agent for holding flanks, and while her wall can do a makeshift job of it temporarily, it is much better when used aggressively and for post-plant situations.
Higher ranked and pro players can probably manage without a flank-holding Sentinel, but in lower lobbies, there simply isn’t enough coordination for it to work effectively. Having your duo play a traditional Sentinel, while giving you freedom to go crazy and aggressive with Vyse, is a strategy that can win you a lot of games.
1Focus Heavy On Post-Plants
If you manage to get into a post-plant situation as Vyse without player disadvantage, then there really aren’t too many scenarios where you shouldn’t come out on top, especially if you have been careful with your utility. Her wall is the perfect ability for these situations as it can displace the defusers to buy some more valuable time.
you may also throw her Razorvines before or after you hear the tap of the spike, and it is even better when paired with another utility, such as mollies or grenades. You also get multiple of her Arc Roses throughout the round as it is a timed ability, and using it through walls on post-plants can be a great way to trick the defusers.
