Torbek is a player character in theDungeons & Dragonsshow Legends of Avantris. While he doesn’t make a lot of appearances, given that you can only find him in about five episodes, he has some absolutely golden lines. Whatever episode Torbek is in, be it part of a series or a one-shot, he’s absolutely hilarious.
While some of his humor tends to lean more toward the inappropriate side, he’s generally well-rounded and should be fun for just about everyone to watch. The way he can so quickly and easily cause the cast to break down in fits of laughter is amazing and incredibly contagious.
9“Do You Think The Children Also Have Bones?”
Twas The Night Before Witchlight
Look Torbek, we know that you eat bones, and yet you’re still going for more bones? Have you not had enough already? Are the adult bones not enough that you need the children’s bones too?
At the very least, this serves as partial confirmation that Torbek has never actually eaten the bones of a child before. Take that as whatever comfort you could possibly gain from such a sentiment. However, this sentiment does land him on the naughty list, so you probably shouldn’t take any kind of comfort in it, given that his askingprobably means he intends to act on this crime.
8“Torbek’s Name Is Torbe-AGHH!”
Look, Torbek, you probably should have seen that coming and not gone ahead to shake the majorly sadistic clown’s hand. Really, nobody should be shaking Chuckles’ hand or really existing within the general vicinity of said menace.
Of course, at least Torbek actually managed to get his name out before he was so rudely electrocuted - perhaps almost always referring to yourself in the third person does have its benefits - no matter what, everyone will always know that his name is Torbek, and not a soul can take that from him.
7“Torbek Says ‘Please Don’t Run. He’s Just Torbek! Where Are You Going? Torbek Wants Friends!”
Walking In A Witchlight Wonderland
Look, Torbek is big and intimidating and he does sound awfully scary - so it makes sense that people run from him. He also, canonically, doesn’t always have the best hygiene, which might make it more difficult to be around people for an extended period of time.
Some of the things he says can also be incredibly off-putting, so it’s not a surprise that Torbek has a difficult time making friends. However, that doesn’t necessarily seem to have an impact on how Torbek perceives himself, given that he still thinks he sounds super sophisticated.
6“Torbek Isn’t A Pervert, I’m Just A Bugbear.”
Once Upon A Witchlight
Torbek, I’m not sure that this is the sentiment you want to portray in regard to Bugbears at large, given that the two ideas can definitely go hand in hand. Regardless, this sentiment is definitely one that tells you just who Torbek is right off the bat.
If you want a solid grasp on Torbek’s character and how he interacts with the larger world, you need look no further, because the answer is right here, and you don’t even need a Zone of Truth spell or anything similar to get it. Realistically,Torbek probably wouldn’t even need the Zone of Truth to get informationout of him, purely because anything he says is going to be a confusing and incredibly loaded statement.
5“Torbek Is Not Going To Steal If It’s Going To Get Him Sucked To- (Consider Pause) -Torbeck Has Reconsidered Stealing.”
The threat of being pulled into some kind of torturous Hell Dimension isn’t enough to stop Torbek, apparently. The theft is still going to happen, and he’s going to be pretty unrepentant about it. Of course, while he might not actually want to end up in a Hell Dimension, the innuendo is there, and, of course, because Torbek is Torbek, he has to take it while he can.
Even still, the threat of landing in a Hell dimension wasn’t enough to stop Torbek from stealing (even if he did assume that everything is free)…though maybe Torbek should be arrestedbefore anyone can be worried about a Hell Dimension ripping itself into reality, even for a brief moment.
4“Torbek Dreams That He Is The Spirit Of The Wolf. (Pained Noises) Nothing Rhymes With Wolf (Sobbing).”
Torbek is just trying his best to write poetry, but it’s pretty apparent that he’s not very good at it. What makes this quote great, though, is the build-up to it. He’s trying so hard to make a poem that works and sounds half-decent, but the entire time, his opponent is just pitying him.
They absolutely drag Torbek through the mud with their own poetry before they just start to feel bad for him, and I mean, can you blame them? At least he kind of got it at the end of his stint in Once Upon A Witchlight.
3“Wouldn’t It Be Funny If Frost Never Came Back? I’m Just Kidding … Unless?”
Torbek is just really enjoying Guys Night, especially now that he and the characters in Once Upon a Witchlight are finally starting to get along. Is it so wrong that he wants to stay with his friends for even longer - even if it means the loss of the only brain cell in the group?
Honestly, it’s kind of sweet, and it makes you wonder whether or not Torbek and Frost would actually get along. However, after this comment, Frost probably holds some kind of grudge against Torbek.
2“Everything Torbek Touches Turns To S**t.”
On this account, Torbek, you are so incredibly relatable that it’s almost painful. Of course, that’s mostly out of content. In context, it’s not particularly the most relatable sentiment given that Gricko revealed his uncle’s death, which caused Torbek to break down.
Really, Torbek seems even more distressed about it than Gricko does, which makes you wonder just how close Torbek was to Gricko’s uncle. Were they best friends? Or perhaps he was something of a pseudo-uncle to Torbek, and now Torbek has lost the only family he’s ever really known.
1“This Is Definitely One Of The Top Ten Worst Things That Have Happened To Torbek - And The Other Nine Would Shock And Appall You.”
Torbek has led a hard life, if this quote is anything to go by; and to be honest, he deserves to be a little out there because of that. Though he certainly knows how to leave you with more questions than answers, especially in regards to the things that he’s been through.
Of course, that’s not why we’re here - we’re here to revel in the chaos that is Torbek and potentially to hire him as a content creator because if that would be an amazing YouTube video, let’s be honest.
