Once you have opened up the Rockrest Flat location in the second chapter ofBlack Myth: Wukong, you’ll be able to encounter a heavy-drinking boar. Speaking to him will begin a series of events that will open up multiple secret boss encounters (three of them in total), unlock a hidden area (the Kingdom of Sahali), and, ultimately, reward you with a powerful piece of equipment that will help you defeat the second chapter’s fearsome final boss.

This guide is here to take you through every step. I’ll point you in the direction of the key items, tell you where you need to go to track down the boar man, and even give you a few tips for defeating each of the bosses you’ll encounter. This guide will give you everything you need to work through this questline and obtain theWind Tamer.

Black Myth Wukong. Speaking to the drunken boar for the first time (pulled out view).

The First Encounter With The Drunken Boar

You’re going to kick off this quest by talking to an inebriated boar mannorth of the Rockrest Flat shrine. You’ll see a breakable fence, shatter it and enter into the large clearing. You’ll spot our boorish quest-giver sitting on a rock in the center of the clearing. He’ll talk to you a bit about having drunk a bit too much of the sauce, so, we’ll need to get something to sober him up. Thankfully, we have just the thing for that, but you won’t be able to get to it untilyou have defeated Tiger Vanguard.

Getting The Sobering Stone

If you’ve cleared the Tiger Vanguard boss battle, we’re off to get theSobering Stone. Travel to the area behind the Tiger Vanguard’s temple. You will need to fight your way through some rat men as you work your way up and around winding stone steps. Eventually, you’ll hit a shrine. You’ll now be in the Windrest Bridge area.Immediately after the shrine, you encounter a bridge with a shield-bearing porcupine and a number of projectile-spitting ghouls.Kill the enemies on the bridge, then take a left.

Not long after leaving Tiger Vanguard’s temple through the back, well before you hit the Windrest Bridge shrine, youshouldfind an item box (it is right next to the path). It has theCopper Pillinside, which will give you the ability to use the Stone Hard spell for free for a brief time after healing. Make sure to grab it while you’re here.

Black Myth Wukong. Speaking to the drunken boar at Tiger Vanguards Temple.

Climb a small set of stairs and you will enter into a courtyard. From the entrance of said courtyard, take a left. There’ll be another one of those spitting jerks here. After you take them out, you’ll see a glowing jar inside the small shack next to him.TheSobering Stoneis insideof it. Now all you need to do is bring the stone back to the boar, and you’ll have completed this step of your journey.

The Second Encounter With The Boar Man

After talking to the boar, and giving him the Sobering Stone, he will mention being hungry. He’ll also make mention of how the Tiger’s temple has plenty of meat. So, head to Tiger Vanguard’s temple. After you have entered the “Temple Entrance” area, climb the steps and look for the boar man. He’ll be on your right, halfway up the steps.

Once you run into him,he will request that you give him aJade Lotus. It is quite possible you will already have some on hand. If not, there is a ton of this stuff in The Wolf’s Forest from the first chapter. You’ll find plenty of it growing in the water.

Black Myth Wukong. Fighitng the Yellow-Robed Squire.

If you are in a rush, you’re able to also purchase theJade Lotusfrom a shrine - it’ll cost you 90 will.

Once you have given the boar man theJade Lotus, head back to where you ran into him the first time (north of the Rockrest Flat shrine).

Black Myth Wukong. Following the Yellow-Robed Squire through the stone door.

Defeat The Yellow-Robed Squire

We finally get to learn the boar’s name! He is known as the Yellow-Robed Squire. Okay, it isn’t much of a name, but it will have to do, as it is all the game ever gives us. After talking to the Yellow-Robed Squire, things will devolve into violence (as they so often do).

The Yellow-Robed Squire has two primary means of attacking you. He’ll toss sand at you, making it hard to see what he is doing, and he’ll slash at you with his claws. Certain attacks will see him win up for a prolonged period of time, which will give you plenty of time to dodge his attacks. However,he does have a pretty quick attack where he’ll lung forward and try to stab you with the claws of his left hand. In general, his fastest attacks see him lunge at you directly, so, if you see him closing the distance, prepare to dodge to the side.Keep at him and you’ll have this boar cooked in no time!

Black Myth Wukong. Confronting the alternate version of Tiger Vanguard.

Once you beat the Yellow-Robed Squire, follow him through the massive stone door. After a brief cutscene, you’ll enter the Kingdom of Sahali. Soon after entering this area, you’ll face off against “Tiger Vanguard”.

Defeat “Tiger Vanguard”

Worry not, friends, this is a different, less horrific, version of theTiger Vanguardyou’ve already beaten. Much like the other Tiger Vanguard, this one likes to dash at you from a distance, and can use the Stone Hard spell. However, everything they do is considerably slower, so they are definitely an easier fight overall. The one thing to look for is their roar attack. If they stretch both of their arms out to the side, you know the roar is coming. Just get some distance, and then resume attacking him.

Once you defeat “Tiger Vanguard” you will be in the home stretch. You’ll enter into a wide open area that is mostly a massive sand dune. Travel along the rocks, and they will lead you to the Yellow Robed Sage (don’t worry, this version is nicer). Speak to him, and he’ll summon Fuban, a massive beetle living beneath the sand. Naturally, he’ll ask you to fight it. Head down into the sand and tussle with this massive monstrosity.

Black Myth Wukong. Approaching the Yellow Wind Sage to summon Fuban.

Defeat Fuban

Fuban hits very, very hard, but his swipes are pretty slow, so if you are careful, you will be able to dodge most of his attacks. Keep an eye out for where his feet are, as every step he takes is a stomp attack. Moreover,if you see him dip his head down into the sand, he is going to raise it up and attempt to gore you with it, so move to the side.Just stay diligent, whack his limbs, and side-step his stomps, and you will eventually get him to half-health. Once you do, he will be stunned, and you will need to climb up on top of him and grab the Buddha’s Eye. At this point, he will rouse once more, but you will be joined by the Yellow Robed Sage himself. With the two of you fighting him at once, he will fall quite quickly.

We have a complete guide on how to defeat Fuban that will take you through his entire moveset.Check it out here.

Black Myth Wukong. Acquiring the Wind Tamer.

You will now be awarded with theWind TamerVessel.Considering the wild goose chase you’ve been on, we’d say you’ve earned it. With theWind Tamerin hand, you’ll be able to confront the other, less chill, version of the Yellow Wind Sage. This vessel will not only cause him to seize up, but it will stop the tornado summoning ability he gains during the last leg of the fight. In short, it will make your lifemucheasier.

Once you have put Fuban down, make sure you clear out all the treasures lining this area. There is some good stuff, including aMind Core, so make sure you circle the entire boss arena.
