The Demon’s Bargain is a Bellara quest inDragon Age: The Veilguardthat takes her deeper into her personal history. It’s an important quest not just for getting to know Bellara, but toexplore the history of the elvesand Arlathan Forest, making it especially valuable if you are playing as an elf.
It involves jumping through Fade rifts to explore more of Arlathan, as well as fightingShades, Demons, and Constructs. For this reason, we suggesttaking Neve for their Cold damage, alongsideBellarawho ismandatoryfor this quest. Together,the pair offer excellent area control, so make sure to make use of it.
Find The Missing Veil Jumpers
As the quest begins,enter the buildingand headthrough the Fade tear. This will jolt you to a new location, where you will fightGreater Sentinels and a Voltaic Shade. The GreaterSentinelsareVulnerable to Electricity, butResist Cold, so haveBellarafocus on them. Meanwhile, theVoltaic Shade will be Vulnerable to Cold, so that’sNeve’sjob.
TheSentinels will follow you, so back offdown the stepsto get themalonewhere you canattack them and deflect their melee attackswithout worrying about the Shade’s ranged attacks. Then headback upstairsand take out theShade with a ranged attackto remove theirBarrier.
At ths point,a Greater Pride Demon appears. TheseResist Electricity, so aside from Galvanized Tear to pull them to hazards,Bellara is less usefulhere. UseHeavy attacks on its Armoranddodge when it sweeps purple beams. When it is defeated, have Bellara fix the door and continue on.
Exit the buildingandcross the gapon the bridge with the fallen branch.Slide down the ramp, andfight more Greater Sentinels, and Greater Spellwights. Here, Neve is less useful, butBlizzard can give you time to escape. Useranged attacks and Bellara on the Spellwightsto take them outfirst, then hit theSentinelswithHeavyattacks for their Armor.
Before crossing the branch, you can take the Power Crystal from the first room to make a bridge to the side, where you find 21 gold and two Imperial Weave
Then go inside the ruins anduse R1/RBto haveBellara fix the mechanism, and bring the nearbyPower Crystal over to cross the bridge. This leads to a clearing where youfight a single Frenzied Shade(Cold attacks work, butrapid melee strikes will do the job quickly). When it falls, Bellara recognises the satchel as Mihlora’s.
Continue through the barrierafterBellara fixes it with RB/R1, thenremove the Power Crystal. Place it in theSocketon theleftinside to reach a new area with aDeath Mask cosmetic, then continue forward.
Survive The Assault
In the next room, Bellara learns thather brother Cyrian is working for the demon Anaris, but the pair leave before Bellara can discover much more. to free Yenarel and Hamuel, you will need tofight three phases of enemies.
In the first phase, there aretwo Greater Shades and two Voltaic Shades. Take out theVoltaic Shades first with ranged headshotsbefore they can charge their attacks, then useNeve’s Cold on the Greater Shadesto make short work of them as they melee attack. After this use R1/RB on either of the crystals at the side (you will need both to end the quest anyway), and the second phase begins.
Thesecond phase is identical to the first, so just verify youstart in the centreso you’re able to get the best shot at the Voltaic Shades.Get the health potions in the corner firstif you need them,not after you assign Bellarato fix the crystal.
Send Bellara to the second crystal, and thelast phasestarts. This one is significantly tougher, featuring aDevouring Shade, Shade Rejuvenator, and Toxic Yearning. TheDevouring Shade and Shade RejuvenatorareVulnerable to Cold, soNeve’sattacks should be used on them, while theToxic Yearning is Vulnerable to Electricity, so that’s a job forBellara.
Both of theweaker enemies grow Barrierthrough the fight, so you will want topick one and concentrate on them with yourself and Neve. Once one is gone, hit the other. They crowd you with melee strikes and teleport away, so don’t get drawn to the closest.Pick one and defeat it, then move on.
TheToxic Yearningalso hasBarrier, soranged headshotswill be useful here.Bellara’s Galvanized Tear can contain it, butNeve’s Blizzard might be a betteroption asBellara can then use her Ability for a more powerful strike. When the Toxic Yearningglows red,it willspin rapidlyand deal huge damage, sododge backwards repeatedly. When awhite arrow floatsout of it (and Bellara shouts “Ranged!"), it willlaunch a missile attack. These can beparried, or you candodge once the green shoots have been launched.
What Are The Rewards For The Demon’s Bargain?
Once you defeat the Toxic Yearning and its followers, a chest will appear with an upgrade forBellara’s The Ready Explorer armor, as well as277 gold, added to the88 goldand100 Veil Jumper strengthyou get for completing the quest.
