Half the fun ofWorld of Warcraftis collecting things. From transmogs to pets to hunter pets (very different), there are tons of things to obsess over. But one of the more fun things to collect is mounts. Mounts are basically whatever a character can ride on. They vary from normal horses to undead abominations with everything in between.
But some of these mounts can be a real pain to obtain. Horror stories of run after run of the same raid haunt many players. But there are some mounts that are just pieces of cake to obtain. These are the easiest mounts to obtain in World of Warcraft.
10Vashj’ir Seahorse
Schrodinger’s Seahorse
The Vashj’ir Seahorse is one of the strangest mounts to obtain in all of World of Warcraft- and one of the easiest. All it takes is a simple questline, and one that players are likely to outlevel. But the thing with the Vashj’ir Seahorse is that it can only be used in Vashj’ir.
Other swimming mounts do exist, but this one only wants to come out in Vashj’ir. Strange. Maybe it’s still loyal to Queen Azshara. Oh well, it adds to the collection, and is interesting in its peculiarities. Take a trip over to Naga country and snag one of these strange seahorses.
9Racial Mounts
Friends for Everyone
These mounts are about as easy to get as fighting a Murloc. Every non-Allied race in World of Warcraft has six mounts available to purchase. These mounts can be purchased by any member of that race automatically- provided they have the coin. Other races will have to grind the reputation if they wish to purchase, but just making a new character and quickly grinding out the gold is a far faster method.
Grabbing all these mounts will give tons of options for players to use, as once they’re purchased, they can be used by any character of the same faction (IE an Orc can use a Forsaken mount, a Dwarf can use a Worgen mount).
8Black Drake
Enemies to Transportation
This mount is a 100 percent drop from Sartharion in the 10-Man version of the Obsidian Sanctum raid. Please note that: the 10-man version. This mount will not drop from the 25-man version, so make sure the difficulty is set to the proper level before entering.
With a max-level character, this battle is trivial; simply kill everything in the way until reaching Sartharion, and then it is just a matter of taking him out to obtain the Black Drake mount. The Black Drake is an older mount but it still holds up against other dragons. Grab this mount to feel like the Earth-Warder himself.
7Twilight Drake
We Ride at Twilight
Did you think we were done with Sartharion? Oh no, this dragon still has plenty of stuff to steal. He’s a veritable pinata of mounts, and another trip into the Obsidian Sanctum raid proves it. Defeating Sartharion on 25-man difficulty will yield the Twilight Drake mount. Again, this is only on the 25-man difficulty so ensure the difficulty level is set to where it should be.
Sartharion is essentially a one-hit KO by any max-level character, so obtaining this mount will take mere minutes. The Twilight Drake has more of a void theme than the Black Drake and would pair well with any purple transmogs.
6Slime Serpent
The Ultimate Slime Tutorial
This mount was very difficult to obtain during Shadowlands, but it only gets easier as time passes. The Slime Serpent is a bit of a hidden gem of the mount world. It is obtained by soloing the last two bosses of the Plaguefall dungeon on Mythic or Heroic difficulty. This has to be done alone, so make sure your character has enough bulk to endure a solo run.
Simply take out Domina Venomblade and Margrave Stradama and then pop back upstairs to where Domina was defeated. A Curious Slime Serpent will be waiting and will be happy to go home with players.
5Hearthsteed
Try Something New
This is probably one of the most unique mounts to obtain- purely because of how it is obtained. World of Warcraft is no stranger to requiring players to do things to obtain mounts. But obtaining the Hearthsteed requires playing an entirely different game
The Hearthsteed is awarded to those who win three games in Hearthstone, acard gameset in the Warcraft universe.Hearthstoneis pretty easy once players get the hang of it, and it’s a lot of fun. Try out Hearthstone and see how it goes- it’s well worth the effort to get this suitably spooky skeleton horse.
4Garrison Mounts
Get to the Garrison
A trip to Draenor is in order for some of the easiest mounts to obtain in the game. And there is a lot of them. There is six mounts just waiting to be grabbed for those willing to make the trek. They do require a stable, so plop one of those buildings down to get started. They also require multiple days of dailies, so they are time-gated.
But the dailies are trivially easy with a max-level character and can be done in less than five minutes each day. Just make a few trips back and forth once a day and voila- six new friends for the collection!
3Time to Fly Mount
Free Stuff is the Best Stuff
What’s better than tons of mounts? Tons of FREE mounts! There’s a handful of mounts that are given out across the game- but a lot of those require work. Ugh. Work. The worst. For those who want free things but don’t want to do any extra work, there’s the Time to Fly Mount.
This mount is given for free to those who reach level 30 and visit the Battle for Azeroth ports (Boralus or Dazar’alor). And…that’s it- a quest will pop up to direct you to the flight trainer, and they’ll give out a free mount. ensure you take a trip into the past and grab this. It’s well worth it.
2Bronze Drake
Just in Time
The Infinite Corrupter is a boss that is only found in the Heroic version of the Culling of Stratholme. Loading into this version of the dungeon is the only way to grab the 100 percent guaranteed Bronze Drake drop. This drop is still time-gated though, with the Infinite Corrupter only being accessible within 25 minutes of starting, so proceed with caution and don’t get distracted.
With a max-level character this will be as easy as pie, but don’t lose focus and wander off or something. The reward for keeping focused is the Bronze Drake mount, so drink some gamer fuel and keep your eyes on the prize.
1Mei Francis Mounts
A Dalaran Deal
Okay, so this isn’t the most glamorous or adventurous way to obtain mounts. But all is fair in love, war, and collecting things in World of Warcraft. Mei Francis is a vendor in Dalaran (both versions) who sells over twenty unique mounts.
She sells them for gold, so there’s no strange currency to grind, but she will give a discount to those in good standing with the Kirin Tor. That discount is helpful, as these mounts can get pricey, but the price is the only thing standing between tons of new mounts. Stop by Mei Francis’s place in Dalaran to grab some new friends.
