ThePokemon TCGcan be difficult to predict when it comes to Pokemon that don’t spend much time in the limelight, as options like Galvantula are frequently forgotten in favor of more exciting Pokemon likeMewtwo, who has a valuable roster of choices. However, Galvantula’s career in the TCG has been dormant since it was released insome of the best sets of the XY era.

The release of Stellar Crown gave Galvantula an electrifying resurgence, introducing three rare new versions of this Pokemon to chase. While Galvantula’s most valuable cards from Stellar Crown will experience a downturn over time, they’re likely to remain among this Pokemon’s most valuable versions for the foreseeable future, given the lack of other high-quality options.

Cards are ordered according to theirTCGPlayerMarket Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.

However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition,so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.

5Galvantula (Deck Exclusive): XY Phantom Forces (Holo Rare) – $0.85

An Exclusive Edition

Galvantula gets things rolling with a solid holo rare featuring the Electric-type spider sitting in a tree in the forest with a detailed scene of a town in the background. This card’s exclusivity contributes to its desirability, even if its price isn’t exceptionally high.

This card was included as one of thevaluable cards in the Phantom ForcesXY4 Theme Deck, not in standard packs of Phantom Forces found in booster boxes and other products.

The Galvantula Stellar Crown Double Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

Unfortunately, Galvantula can never hope to reach the heights of popular Electric types likeRaikou, who boasts plenty of valuable cardsto collect. This card only fetches about $0.86 in near-mint(NM)condition, with lightly played(LP)cards dropping as low as $0.55, followed by moderately played(MP)copies for $0.25.

4Galvantula: Dark Explorers (Rare) – $0.99

Toward New Horizons

Dark Explorers is one ofthe most valuable sets from the Black & White era, though this Galvantula card can’t break into the dollar range yet, with a market price just off the pace. Much like the Galvantula depicted in the card art, this card remains unappreciated in the shadows, waiting for its chance to shine.

NM copiesof this card have been on the rise, soaring throughout 2024 up to$1.49in some cases. The Reverse Holo version of this card sells for about $1.25 in NM condition, making the Rare more valuable, especially as the Reverse doesn’t even have a set market price on TCGplayer yet.

3Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (Double Rare) – $1.61

Twice The Rarity, Not Price

Stellar Crown gave Galvantula a lifeline, restoring its relevance in the TCG space, and adding to its extremely limited roster with three fantastic new options to comprise the best Galvantula cards.

The least valuable of those three is easily the double rare Galvantula ex, which gets lost in the rainbow of colors.

The Galvantula Stellar Crown Special Illustration Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

While this card’s initial price was set around $14, it never had a chance of maintaining that price after release, immediately settling at a new range below two dollars. This card is likely to continue falling as more time separates us from the Stellar Crown release date.

2Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (Ultra Rare) – $2.91

A Brightly Bejeweled Bug

This upgrade over the double rare offers a much better view of Galvantula, as the gemstones on this bug’s body form a gorgeous Tera crown.

The white background is perfect for this card,as it allows the explosion of colors to remain distinct without distracting entirely from Galvantula.

Much like the double rare, the starting $16 price tag wasn’t likely to stick, so time will continue to erode this card’s value before the eventual rebound down the road. For now, it sits around $2.90 but isn’t likely to settle until it falls closer to the value of the double rare.

1Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (Special Illustration Rare) – $38.10

The Pinnacle Of Galvantula

Stellar Crown is a small set that isn’t stacked with top-tier SIRs to collect, meaning Galvantula finds itself as one of the featured cards. The perfect view of Galvantula’s striking tera crown is only part of the magic, as the card boasts crackling details shaded with bright, brilliant colors.

This card is beautiful and offers a fitting crown to this Electric bug; this card may be thebest Galvantula card in the Pokemon TCG for a long time.

However, this card’s estimated price tag began above the $50 plateau, but immediately fell to the sub-40s at release, continuing the negative downward trend that comes with all cards after release. The straight line downward might slow in the 20s, but expect this card to fall sharply as newer, more exciting sets are released, adding to the collection ofvaluable cards in the Scarlet & Violet era.
