Even cute un-evolved Pokemon are featured on gorgeous cards in thePokemon TCG, with underappreciated choices like Joltik featuring some shockingly beautiful illustrations. While you won’t find Joltik among themost expensive cards in the Scarlet & Violet era, more versions are in the works, with one of the most recent sets featuring top-tier Joltik art.
Some of themost valuable Electric-type Pokemon like Raikouand Rotom set an impossible standard for Joltik to achieve, though that’s good news if you want to collect all of Joltik’s best cards. While Joltik doesn’t boast many high-value cards to hunt down, it’s a fun Pokemon to collect if you want to buy every one of its cards without breaking the bank.
Cards are ordered according to theirTCGPlayerMarket Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition,so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.
5Joltik 41: Dark Explorers (Common) – $0.27
The First Explorer
This card from Dark Explorers is a gorgeous common, and while it may not reach the same level of detail thatDark Explorers' most valuable cardsdo, this pastel-colored Joltik art creates a warm feeling with its adorable art. The blue accents on Joltik’s primarily yellow body are theperfect juxtaposition to the darker brown background.
This card also sells in areverse holoversion, but unfortunately that carddoes not have a market price.
While Near-mint(NM)reverse holos can sell for up to $0.59, the common version only clocks in at about $0.27. Even heavily played(HP)copies of the reverse holo sell for more than NM commons, but there’s no way to judge exactly what the difference is in value without an established reverse holo market price.
4Joltik 42: Dark Explorers (Reverse Holo) – $0.54
Another One
This Joltik shares a similar design philosophy to the common version we just examined, as this card also features a darker background to contrast Joltik’s bright color palette. While the dark blue matches Joltik’s accents on its feet and eyes, this bug Pokemon still stands out as the clear star.
Unlike the other Dark Explorers Joltik card, this card’s reverse holo has enough sales to determine the market price, with theNM reverse soaring as high as $2.93in some cases, whiledropping as low as $0.52.This card’s demand isn’t consistent, so the card’s availability (the supply) and its quality factor heavily into the sale prices.
3Joltik: Black & White (Reverse Holo) – $0.87
Part Of A Pair
Joltik starts off on a very modest note with this Reverse Holo card from Black & White gives Joltik a solid start with a simple scene. Although this card isn’t particularly hard to find, its beautiful art makes it an enjoyable depiction of this adorable Electric-type bug.
While Joltik won’t ever find itself counted amongthe most valuable cards from the Black & White era,it starts its journey in the Pokemon TCG here.
Heavily played(HP)copies can sell for about $0.50, while moderately played(MP)versions only cost a few cents more, capping out at $0.57. Higher quality cards will jump in price, as you can expect to pay about $0.95 for lightly played(LP)followed by a near-mint(NM)capping out closer to $0.99, though a stray LP copy jumped to $2.00.
2Joltik: Stellar Crown (Illustration Rare) – $4.00
An Explosion Of Electricity
Joltik stands tall as one ofthe most incredible cards you’ll find in Stellar Crown,as the set gives an uncharacteristic amount of love and attention to Joltik and its evolution, Galvantula. This card boasts a beautiful explosion of electrical energy, which unfortunatelyovershadows Joltik, as it’s tucked away in the background.
The lack of a darker background like the ones from Dark Explorers leaves Joltik lost in a sea of yellow.
While its market price is certain to fall following Stellar Crown’s release, this card boasts a value more than double the Joltik from Dark Explorers, with dozens of NM copies ranging from $3.90 to $5.99, withprices likely to dip by half or even moreif the trend from prior releases is followed.
1Joltik: Paradox Rift (Illustration Rare) – $4.91
Taking A Bite Of Victory
This Joltik jumps out to the top spot on the back of a sweet, sleeping Yamper, as Joltik sits comfortably on top of this sleeping dog in one ofthe best cards you’ll find in Paradox Rift. It’s hard to compete against cards that feature multiple Pokemon in the illustration, with this duo boasting a commanding lead over the other Joltik cards.
This card’s price chart offers a cautionary tale to the Stellar Crown Illustration Rare, with Paradox Rift’s version rocketing up to the $7.50 range before sliding closer to $4.50 with each passing day. However, rebounds will come and go as time passes, withthis card likely to stay in its current range for the long term, though anything is possible in the Pokemon TCG.
