Lucario was made for thePokemon TCGas this Fighting-type favorite is always ready to compete – whether against other Pokemon, or even itself. Lucario’s love of competition shines through its fierce artwork, as many of the most valuable cards feature Lucario in action or about to enter battle.
Whether you enjoy Lucario’s more recent appearances as one ofthe standout cards from the Sun & Moon eraor prefer its inclusion as a frequently used promo Pokemon, Lucario has a range of great cards. Some of the best Lucario cards may be familiar, while others are oddities you may never have seen elsewhere.
Cards are ordered according to theirTCGPlayerMarket Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.
Given the age and rarity of these cards, onlythose with anestablished market price on TCGplayerare included.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition,so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.
6Lucario LV. X: Mysterious Treasures (Ultra Rare) – $41.37
A Fierce Start
Lucario’s fighting instincts are on display in the first entry among the best Lucario cards. Lucario’s Bullet Punch is captured at the perfect moment, giving us an excellent close-up as Lucario unleashes its power on its opponent.
While this isn’t the only Lucario LV. X, it’s currently the most valuable one, sitting comfortably above the promo version.
This Lucario card is fairly old but is luckily available in any condition you could want, ranging from damaged copies at $12, to near-mint(NM)cards capping out closer to $40. There are solid discounts available for heavily played(HP)cards, starting as low as $9.50, with lightly played(LP)cards jumping toward the $19 mark.
5Lucario (Staff Prerelease): SM Promos (Promo) – $43.84
Ultra Prism’s Hype Train
While you won’t find it amongthe most valuable cards in Ultra Prism, this Lucario promo card helped contribute to the lead-up to this Sun & Moon era favorite. Lucario’s epic pose is hard to top, as this Pokemon looks primed and ready for battle.
Prerelease cards like this are distributed at designated prerelease events for the set stamped on the card, with staff versions distributed exclusively to staff members at the events.
This card is very rare, even for a promo card, as there’s only one recent sale at $40.50 for a copy in LP condition for reference, leaving the door open to more sales. It’s doubtful that the market price will change too much, as there are a few copies available for about that amount; however, an NM sale could change the landscape for this card.
4Lucario GX: Forbidden Light (Secret Rare) – $51.95
Punching Its Way To The Top
Lucario wasn’t satisfied with its impressive performance amongthe most valuable cards in Forbidden Light,as this card earns a spot among the best Lucario cards in the Pokemon TCG.
Despite itshigh value among its peers in Forbidden Light,Lucario has an unusual roster of valuable cards that compete with and exceed this gorgeous Rainbow Secret Rare.
While this card’s value is still high enough to hold down a spot among Lucario’s best, its price chart paints a grim picture, as Lucario is losing ground fast. Its previous high close to $80 is far away, as thiscard sank below $65 at the start of 2024and fell throughout the year to about $50.
3Lucario: Rumble (Promo) – $58.29
A Forgotten Moment In Time
If you’re not familiar withPokemon Rumble, this 2009 beat-em-upfighting game for the Wiicrashed and burned hard, shutting down due to its poor sales numbers. However, relics of the game’s history, like this promo featuring one of the goofiest depictions of Lucario to date.
Luckily, this card doesn’t share the same doomed fate as the game it promoted, as it lives on with a solid demand that continues to support a soaring price tag. While damaged copies are relatively inexpensive, clocking in at under $20, you’ll need to pay about $27 for an MP copy, $35 for an LP, andas much as $63 for one in NM condition.
2Lucario (Staff Prerelease): Diamond & Pearl Promos (Promo) – $62.03
It’s All About The Promos
Lucario’s third promo appearanceshouldn’t be a surprise, as this Pokemon’s popularity is evident, as it continues to receive promo variations for sets across different generations. Somehow, every one of Lucario’s best cards offersa distinct angle of this beloved Fighting-type Pokemon.
Unfortunately, as a promo card, it’s impossible to go hunting for this card inany of Diamond & Pearl’s best sets,as it was exclusively offered during limited-time prerelease events.
Similar to the other Lucario promos, it’s difficult to track down copies of this card, as there are onlyLPsales on TCGplayer, registering at about $62 each. There’s only a single listing in HP condition at the moment, and while usually, more listings appear over time, this card is likely to only get rarer.
1Lucario EX: Furious Fists (Full Art) – $72.09
The Heavyweight Champ
This Lucario claims another victory to follow up its impressive distinction asthe most valuable card in Furious Fists, this time as the best Lucario card of all time. Considering Lucario’s long TCG career and impressive popularity, it’s difficult to claim top honors, but this card’s gorgeous illustration is deserving of the spot.
Thankfully, this Lucario card appears far more abundantly on TCGplayer than the rare Lucario promos do, registering sales in the full spectrum of conditions.
HP cards can be purchased for as little as $12.39, while MP copies have gone for closer to $20. LP cards may range in value, but the highest sale caps out at $24, though you should be able to find one for less. However,NM cards are where the money is, ranging from $74 to $125,exceeding the modest market price by a large margin.
