While not every set in thePokemon TCGgets the attention it deserves, Undaunted consistently flies under the radar despite being one of the best sets from the HeartGold & SoulSilver era. While it may not boast the popularity of some ofthe most expensive sets from the EX era,Undaunted still has a surprising group of valuable cards to collect.
Any set that has some ofthe most desirable Eeveelution cards everis worthy of note, and Undaunted touts some gorgeous versions of popular Pokemon like Espeon and Umbreon. However, Pokemon aren’t the only stars of the show, as we get to enjoy one of the most unusual Trainer cards you’ll ever see.
Cards are ordered according to theirTCGPlayerMarket Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.
Given the age and rarity of these cards, onlythose with anestablished market price on TCGplayerare included.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition,so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.
10Umbreon (Holo Rare) – $23.93
The Lone Holo
Umbreon starts things off by immediately throwing a wrench into all the themes and patterns we can observe among the most expensive cards in Undaunted with its holo rare. As the only holo rare to appear among the best cards in Undaunted,Umbreon flexes its popularityby breaking all the rules.
There’s also a reverse holo, but it sells for much less in comparison.
This Umbreon Holo Rare is available in a range of conditions across the spectrum, starting with heavily played(HP)copies at $7.98, followed by moderately played(MP)cards that sell for nine dollars. The cards in excellent condition command a premium, with lightly played(LP)jumping to almost $15 and near-mint(NM)at the top, selling for roughly $23.
9Houndoom Prime (Ultra Rare) – $28.14
Ready For Its Close-Up
This valuable HoundoomPrime isn’t concerned with personal space, as thisclose-upof the intimidating Dark-type gives us an unorthodox view of this Pokemon;a consistent theme among Prime cards. While it doesn’t contain hyperrealistic details, we get to enjoy a good look at the glimmering red twinkle in Houndoom’s eye.
This card can sell for as little as $6.77 if you’re okay with settling for one in HP condition, though you’ll likely need to pay a few dollars more. However, LP copies are only $14 if compromising on the card’s condition is difficult, with NM sales typically around $30 to tempt you if you prefer to collect the best.
8Raichu Prime (Ultra Rare) – $28.34
A Fierce Glimmer
Raichu joins Houndoom as next in line for a close-up, as this fierce competitor flashes an even more ferocious look on its face than the Dark-type. Raichu Prime is a rare example ofa valuable Raichu cardthat stands out from the pack given itsclose perspective and striking expression.
Raichu saw a dip from the $34 mark, down to its current market price, where it waits for a rally back to its former glory. However, a recent NM sale at $34.95gives a major glimmer of hope for this card,as it’s likely to spike back up if these sales continue.
7Espeon Prime (Ultra Rare) – $44.43
A Focus On Eyes
Espeon Prime easily eclipses Raichu, as this Pokemon’s popularity distinguishes it from the collection of close-ups that we’ve seen thus far. The use of shadows in Raichu’s card is excellent, but Espeon’s design manages tocloak this Psychic-type in darkness without completely obscuring the details.
The market for this card has struggled to keep up with the previous pace it set in the high 40s, but Espeon will remain among the most sought-after Eeveelutions. As such, this card’s NM sales at around $43 are temporary and likely to rise, thoughthe price chart seems to indicate a possible dip to $40 before a rebound.
6Alph Lithograph (Ultra Rare) – $55.05
Start Reading
The Alph Lithograph stands out as one of the most bizarre Trainer card choices, but despite the unusual reference, this Lithograph played a significant role in revealing the mystery of the Unown.
The Lithograph’s letters are replaced by Unown, making thisa great card to collect if you enjoy Unown.
This card maintains strong value in LP and NM conditions, typically selling in the $30 – $50 range between the two, though you’ll see significant discounts below those. MP cards are about $17, while you may save an extra few dollars if you settle for HP.
5Kyogre & Groudon Legend: Top (Ultra Rare) – $67.00
Part Of A Whole
This first half of the Kyogre & Groudon Legend card sets a clear divide in value between the two Pokemon, as this half primarily features Kyogre. If you’re looking for Groudon, you’ll have to wait for the other half.
The Legend cards are sets of two cards that form an entire scene when placed beside each other.
However, even though it’s the less valuable half, this card can still fetch over $66 in NM condition, withLP cards still hitting heights of roughly $45.
4Rayquaza & Deoxys Legend: Top (Ultra Rare) – $74.93
Searching For Their Other Halves
The Rayquaza side of the Rayquaza and Deoxys Legend features a stunning moment of Rayquaza roaring during its fight with Deoxys. Surprisingly, despite Rayquaza’s immense popularity, this half of the two-part set commands less than Deoxys.
Sales of this card have dipped far below the market price in recent times, as even the most expensive NM copies have sold for less than $70. Expect this card’s market price to drop if this downward trend doesn’t correct itself with sales closer to the market price.
3Rayquaza & Deoxys Legend: Bottom (Ultra Rare) – $83.49
Lost And Found
Deoxys takes the reins, as this beautiful half of the Rayquaza & Deoxys Legend card is one ofthe most valuable Deoxys cards ever.
Unfortunately, Deoxys loses a portion of its head to the other side of the card, but it still shines in most of its glory.
Unlike the other half, this card boasts LP sales on either side of the market price, as NM copies are nearly impossible to find, and one recent sale hovered below some LP copies. With an LP copy hitting $93,it’s clear that this card remains in high demand.
2Kyogre & Groudon Legend: Bottom (Ultra Rare) – $97.04
Reunions Everywhere
If you enjoycollecting valuable Groudon cards, then this is the better half for you and eclipses Kyogre’s scene despite a large portion of Groudon missing from the upper portion of the card. Awkward cut aside, the explosive magma gives this card a gorgeous background to enjoy.
This card continues to rise in NM condition, soaring from around $60 in 2023 to about $90 in the fourth quarter of 2024. Its meteoric rise is unlikely to continue at such a rapid pace, butNM copies command roughly $100,leaving room for this card to enter the triple digits.
1Umbreon Prime (Ultra Rare) – $122.32
The Undisputed Champion
Considering how expensive some ofthe most valuable Umbreon cardsare, this Umbreon Prime may seem like a bargain even though iteclipses the next closest contender by over $20.While this Umbreon card doesn’t visually distinguish itself from its Prime Pokemon peers, the subject easily surpasses the other Pokemon.
Umbreon Prime is expensive, but you can find one for a massive discount if you don’t mind settling for worse conditions. MP copies sell for about $50, while LP cards are closer to $70,offering a $50+ discountdepending on which version you buy. Expect to pay $120 if you’ll only accept an NM copy.
