The region of Paldea has plenty of cultural and historical importance in the world of Pokemon. ThePokemon TCGcaptures some of these moments in their Pokemon and Trainer Cards. The best ones are the rarities that allow the artist to expand on the basic image and create something truly unique.
These cards just scream Paldea. You take one look and your thoughts instantly go towards that Spain-inspired region full of temporal anomalies and wild areas. From sharing sandwiches with friends to seeing legendary Pokemon in their natural or unnatural habitats, these are the eight most Paldean Pokemon Cards in the TCG.
8Arven Paldean Fates Special Illustration
Making Sandwiches Is How You Make Friends
One major trait of the Paldea region is the people’s obsession with sandwiches. Walk into any store or, stand by the front door to be more accurate, and you’ll find ingredients for sale. However, they don’t always have what you need.
Arven is one of your main rivals and his whole gimmick is trying to collect special ingredients from Titan Pokemon in the hopes that it will heal his Mabostiff. Mabostiff is Arven’s partner Pokemon, who might just die if he doesn’t get a sandwich soon. Of course, preparing your next meal can get a bit messy, especially when you’re in the wild. Luckily, practice makes perfect.
7Salvatore Temporal Forces Special Illustration
A Picture Perfect Pokemon Card
Temporal Forcesincludes plenty of rare and elusive cards. One of them is Salvatore, who acts as a language and humanities professor at the academy. His special illustration depicts his home. With a cup of coffee still on the table and plenty of Paldean decorations including ceramics, carved sculptures, and flags, it doesn’t get homelier than this.
The card has a distinct appearance that resembles a real-world painting. It’s the kind of art that would fit so well in a Spanish Museum. There is just so much attention to detail on this card that you can always spot something new you hadn’t before.
6Squawkabilly Paldea Evolved Special Illustration
The Birds Of Paldea
Birds are everywhere. Whether they be doves, crows, pigeons, or parrots, there is always that one bird you see flying across the sky. Paldea has its own signature bird in the form of Squawkabilly. These parrot Pokemon are everywhere and come in a variety of different colors.
Squawkabilly EX fromPaldea Evolvedis right at home sitting on the rooftops. The green ones watch as the yellow and blue Squawkabilly get into a heated argument. It makes you wonder if all their squawking is a disturbance to the people of Paldea or just a funny common occurrence that becomes part of the morning routine.
5Cassiopeia Shrouded Fable Special Illustration
Behind The Scenes With Penny
Paldea is home to one of Pokemon’s greatest hackers. Unfortunately, she stays cooped up in her room as she sends us on various Team Star missions. This side of Penny is never seen, but in theShrouded Fable set of the TCG, fans get a good glimpse at the girl behind the screen.
She has plenty of opened cans of what can only be energy drinks on the table. She has multiple computers open, including her laptop, at least two screens for her PC, and her Jolteon-styled Rotom Phone. Some of Paldea’s most influential trainers don’t always make themselves known, instead, they work behind the scenes.
4Floragato Paldea Evolved Special Illustration
The Rustic Architecture
Floragato’s illustration rare printing is one of the nicest arts depicting the Paldea region. In particular, it’s nice to see the architecture of the more rustic side of the region. Paldea has plenty of big cities, but some of the most memorable places have overgrowth on the walls and the roses placed with care on the stone.
It does give off the impression that the region is one with nature and the flowers make it a perfect home for Floragato to live comfortably. The Sprigatito line has plenty of special illustrations, but this one captures the look the best.
3Paldean Student Paldean Fates Special Illustration
Two Cards That Capture The Magic
This is one of the few cards where both variants feel like they ooze Paldea. One of the most notable elements of the ninth Pokemon generation is the inclusion of two academies. Naranja and Uva. This is where trainers come to learn about the Pokemon world.
The students who make up the academy have their distinct uniforms. Each version of the card depicts a different set of students from each version of the school. How else can you celebrate Paldea than with the people who make up such a major part of the culture?
2Miraidon EX Scarlet And Violet Special Illustration
Miraidon In The Busy City
The two legendary Pokemon of Paldea represent the past and the future. Miraidon has many of these futuristic features, such as electronic eyes and a more machine-like appearance. The special illustration art makes it look right at home in Paldea’s more modern city.
Couple this with a nighttime setting and the neon lights in the background, and Miraidon truly does feel like a symbol of Paldea’s modern accomplishments. This card also features a Fidough staring out the window at Miraidon. The other Pokemon will never believe what it saw fly past its window the other night.
1Koraidon EX Scarlet And Violet Special Illustration
Koraidon In Paldea’s Area Zero
Koraidon is said to represent the past and a more natural state for the Pokemon world. It’s only fitting that it looks more like an exotic lizard with scales instead of a metallic body. If Miraidon’s illustration art captures Paldea at its most modern, then Koraidon captures the natural beauty of the region.
Surrounded by the thick jungles of Area Zero, Koraidon feels right at home in the thick foliage. Such a natural shot would not be as powerful without a random wild Pokemon skittering across the card. This one also features a wild Dedenne scurrying through the thick branches of the wild.
