Diancie has always been an interesting Pokemon. It’s not an evolution of Carbink but rather a distant relative. In thePokemon TCG, this mythical Pokemon has seen its fair share of printings. With its more recent printing in the Stellar Crown set, it’s interesting to go back through the card’s history and take a look at the collection.
If you’re a Diancie fan, then you’re in luck because some of the most valuable cards are not as expensive as other Pokemon. From Mega Evolution cards to printings that can almost be considered full arts, these are the ten most valuable Diancie Cards in the Pokemon TCG.
Card values reflect the market value as seen on TCGPlayer.com and may be subject to fluctuation with time.
10Diancie Crown Zenith Gallarian Gallery $0.75
Almost A Full Art
Pokemon TCG’s The Crown Zenithset has one of the nicest looking Diancie cards despite not being one of the most expensive. This card features a dazzling image of Diancie surrounded by gems similar to its body.
Its Ability, Princess’s Curtain, prevents your opponent from using the Effects of Supporter cards on your own Benched Pokemon. For one Energy, Spide Draw does 20 damage and lets you draw two cards. Unlike other popular full arts, this one has a notable yellow border that is a staple of more common cards.
9Diancie Phantom Forces $1.15
Fairies Unite
Pokemon TCG’s Phantom Forcesset has another printing of Diancie that puts plenty of emphasis on its Fairy-typing. The Fairy-type line of cards hasn’t been seen since the Sun and Moon Era ended, but it once switched things around before the Pokemon got distributed around.
This Diancie has two Moves. Sparkle does no damage but forces your opponent to flip a coin if they wish to use any of the effects of their Moves moves during their next turn. Diamond Storm does 60 damage and heals 30 from all of your Fairy-type Pokemon on the Bench.
8Diancie Prism Star 2018 Naohito Inoue $1.50
When Dianci Made It To Worlds
Prism Star cards have a pretty unique card design with a sleek reflective prism in the middle of all the text. Like the Ace Spec mechanic, only one Prism Star card is allowed in each deck. However, when this card is knocked out, it goes to the Lost Zone.
This specific printing is a recreation of the one found in Naohito Inoue’s deck for the 2018 World Championship. It features a silver card border and Naohito Inoue’s signature on the card border. This card is also not tournament-legal but does make a nice collector’s item.
7Diancie Hidden Fates Shiny Vault $1.53
Shiny Like A Crystal
Diancie from theHidden Fates Shiny Vaultfeatures a special card art of a shiny Diancie. This Pokemon is surrounded by mostly white card art and is a Fairy-type just like the others from the Sun and Moon era of the game.
Shiny Pokemon are always sought after due to their unique color patterns and often premium-looking printings. Now and then, special sets will be released that have a whole gallery of shiny Pokemon that are up for grabs. Luckily, these won’t require hours of grinding.
6Diancie EX XY Fates Collide $2.24
A Sparkling Protector
Diance always has a way of protecting Pokemon on the Bench or offering some sort of healing effect that keeps them in tip-top shape. Diancie EX from the Fates Collide set is another dazzling card that just looks perfect with the sparkling card design it has been given.
While in the Active Spot, Diancie EX reduces any damage done from Moves by 30. This not only protects Diancie but also protects the weaker Pokemon on the Bench. Wonder Stage uses Stadium cards to boost its attack from 60 to 110.
5Diancie Prism Star Forbidden Light $2.26
A Legal Prism Star
Besides the commemorative printing ofForbidden Light’sDiance for Naohito Inoue’s World Championship deck, the original printing also appears as one of the more valuable Diancie cards. Unlike the other Fairy counterparts, this one is a Fighting-type Pokemon.
Diancie’s Princess’s Cheers Ability gives all your Fighting-type Pokemon an extra 20 damage with each attack. This is an excellent way of getting those early-game knockouts. Diamond Rain does 90 damage while also healing all of your Benched Pokemon by 30 HP. It’s no wonder this made it to the World Championship.
4Diancie EX XY Promo $2.76
Test Your Luck
The Diancie EX promo is just a bit different from the one found in the Fates Collide set. This one has Diancie popping out of the card art and two unique Moves. The first is Moonblast, which does 20 damage and makes sure that your opponent’s next Move does 20 less.
Luminous Swirl is a bit more luck-based with an initial 80 damage and 40 more for each head you land on while flipping the coins. Flipping coins may not be the most optimal strategy, but it always adds a bit of suspense to any battle.
3Diancie 2017 Diego Cassiraga $3.86
Another World Champion
Diancie may not have had as many printings as some of the other Pokemon in the huge roster, but you shouldn’t count it out just yet. Diancie has made it to the World Championships twice. This is an older card, having been released in 2017.
Based on theBurning Shadowsprinting, this Diancie is a replica of the one found in Diego Cassiraga’s deck during the 2017 World Championships. While this card is not useable in an actual match, it does come with the player’s signature in the card art.
2M Diancie EX Jumbo Card $5.50
The Bigger The Better
One easy-to-forget detail is that Diancie can Mega Evolve. Luckily, the Pokemon TCG has a printing that depicts its Mega Evolution. This particular version of the card was printed as a promo in specially marked boxes of the Pokemon TCG.
This is a jumbo card, making it great for collecting but not for actual play. It can be used as a decoration or simply used to make a gimmicky jumbo deck for fun. While not the most expensive jumbo card of them all, these types of cards can sometimes become valuable over time. So don’t dismiss them as worthless.
1M Diancie EX $8.82
The Most Valuable Diancie
If you’re looking for a playable version of the giant promo Mega Diancie, then you’re in luck. As the most valuable Diancie card of them all, Mega Diancie EX is a pretty card to look at and powerful for its time.
It has Japanese lettering across the card art and a dynamic depiction of the Pokemon which includes crystals smashing across the card borders. It also has a powerful Move called Diamond Force. It deals 100 damage and stops your opponent’s Pokemon EX from dealing damage to your Pokemon during the next turn.
