Kingambit is a commander, therefore it is only fitting that its first printing inthe Scarlet and Violet base setsticks to the theme. This Pokemon has an Ability called Leadership that buffs your Basic Pokemon’s Moves by 30 damage. Now they can hit harder than before.
This Ability is unique since it doesn’t specifically state that only one can be used each turn. Therefore, for each Kingambit that you have on the Bench, the higher your buffs will stack up. This doesn’t just apply to the lowest Evolutions of Pokemon, but EX Pokemon as well, since they are also considered Basic in many cases. Overall, not a bad way to debut in the Pokemon TCG and perfectly in theme.

Obsidian Flamesis one of the most iconic sets of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet era of the TCG. Another Kingambit can be found in this set, this time, taking the shape of a Steel-type Pokemon. This Pokemon may not have the same buffing Ability as its base set counterpart, but it does have one killer Move.
Strike Down costs only one Energy but can instantly knock out any Pokemon if the conditions are met. Any Pokemon that has four or more damage counters is vulnerable to this Move. Massive Rend is also a modest Move that does 140 damage for three Energy. Try building a janky deck surrounding this card and catch your opponent by surprise.

The Battle Academy set that was released in 2024 is intended to teach new players how to battle using preconstructed decks. This edition brings Fire, Electric, and Dark-type decks that center around specific Pokemon such as Pikachu, Armarouge, and Darkrai.
Kingambit from Battle Academy is a special card since this is technically a reprint of a card from Japan, but a first-time printing in America. Unique to cards from this set is the special Darkrai symbol that can be found on the bottom right of the card. It has two basic Moves that are perfect for teaching the card game. These are Elbow Strike and Slicing Blade. Neither have effects but deal 40 and 100 damage.

Paldean Fates is one of the coolest setsin the Pokemon TCG. This is because it has plenty of shiny Pokemon and one of them just happens to be Kingambit. This Pokemon looks amazing with its blue, black, and gold color scheme. The blank background and the addition of stars surrounding it add to that lucky feeling of pulling it from a pack.
The card has the same Move and Ability as the version from the base set of Scarlet and Violet. It does, however, look so much prettier on the Bench as it boosts your Basic Pokemon’s attacks. If you’re going to knock out your opponent’s Pokemon, you might as well do it in style.

The special illustration of Kingambit is one of those cards that can lead your Pokemon into battle and look good while doing it too.
This Kingambit is the full package. The art features Kingambit surrounded by its underlings. This includes two Bisharp guarding it while an army of Pawniard marches forward into battle. If you want to max out the rarity of your Kingambit, then this is one you should get. While it is the most expensive Kingambit card, it is still fairly priced due to how recent it is.
