Fire And Steel Combine

One of the most gorgeous Kingdra cards of all time is surprisingly not even the most expensive. This is Delta Species Kingdra, which is both a Steel-type and a Fire-type at the same time. This combination does wonders for the card’s aesthetic and was only available for Delta Species of the time.

Delta Species Pokemonare unique within the TCG due to the fact that they either have two different Typings, or their Typings are complete opposites of what you would normally expect. Also unique is how the moves require both Types of Energy to pull off such as Heat Blast which needs Fire and Steel.

7Kingdra Prime $19.62

Unleash The Dragon

Pokemon TCG’s Unleashed set focused on the legendary dogs as well as a few other Pokemon from Johto. Kingdra Prime is one card from the set that just feels like it’s popping out at you. The card art has broken borders facing outwards and Kingdra’s name is in a golden yellow.

Its only attack is Dragon Steam, which costs only one Water Energy. However, if your opponent has any Fire-type Pokemon in play, the attack gets severely nerfed. Kingdra’s Poke Power can at least help you put damage counters on any of your opponent’s Pokemon whether Benched or Defending. That’s something that always comes in handy.

6Kingdra EX Delta Species $27.60

The Value Of Rare EX Cards

A different Delta Species Kingdra was released in the Dragon Frontiers set. This one is a Fighting-type and is also an EX Pokemon. Evolving from your regular Kingdra, Kingdra has two Moves and a Poke Body.

Extra Smoke serves as extra padding for your EX Pokemon. Any time they get hit, they take ten less damage than they normally would. Energy Link costs two Energy and does 40 damage while also allowing you to place an Energy from the Discard Pile onto Kingdra so it can use its second Move, Protective Swirl. This move does 80 damage and removes Kingdra’s Weakness to Electric-type matchups.

A Kingdra That Remembers Everything

A more familiar-looking Kingdra EX comes from the Dragon set. This is where the Kingdra cards begin to feel a little more expensive. However, if you have them in your bulk, it’s a nice little payday for you. Kingdra EX has a very nice-looking holographic foiling that extends towards the card’s borders.

This is also a unique Kingdra card since it is one of the few that has two Weaknesses instead of just one or none. Its first Move is also special since it allows it to use any of its previous Moves from its Horsea or Seadra forms without paying their Energy Cost.

Primal Clash Kingdra Pokemon TCG Card Art.

4Kingdra Prerelease Staff Card $45.66

Working At A Prerelease Pays Off

The fact that you can get special cards from working at events is enough of an incentive to do so for collectors. Another incentive is that those cards usually end up going up in prices over time due to the limited quantities that are printed.

Kingdra fromthe XY Primal Clash setis a gorgeous card all on its own with a full art of Kingra in an underwater environment. However, those special stamps on the card art make all the difference. On the left, you have the Primal Clash logo signifying that it is a prerelease card. On the right, you have the Staff stamp.

Neo Destiny Kingdra Pokemon TCG Card Art.

3Kingdra Neo Genesis $49.69

A Classic Holo Foil

If you’re looking for a Kingdra with a very classic Pokemon TCG look, thenthe one found in Neo Genesischecks all the marks. It has that classic holographic look that is reserved for some of the earlier sets in the TCG’s history. The first edition stamp also differentiates it from other printings of this card.

The older a card is the more likely it would have been damaged due to time, storage, or even competitive play. Finding one in a near-mint condition is a real treat some are willing to pay for. Of course, some of the moves are ridiculously expensive and not very good in use anymore, but for nostalgia, it’s a card worth getting.

Aquapolis Kingdra Pokemon TCG Card Art.

2Kingdra Aquapolis Holo Rare $82.50

E-Readers Must Be Preserved

One of the more expensive Kingdra cards is the E-Reader printing inthe Aquapolis set. It has a holographic foiling which looks better than other cards due to how little space the Kingdra takes up in the card art. This leaves plenty of room for the card to just sparkle with the foiling. It also extends to the E-Reader barcode, which also sparkles.

E-Reader Kingdra can give you a Pokedex entry if you scan it in the device it was made for. Like most E-Reader cards, you’ll need to find one that has the scannable part intact if you want to get it to work properly. This drives the price up for the most preserved versions of the card.

The Cooler E-Reader Card

The Aquapolis set has yet another E-Reader Kingdra, which has some unique abilities and an even tastier look than the last. With holographic card art and a shimmering card body, this Kingdra looks premium in all of its design choices.

Its abilities are also unique in how it takes not just two, but three different Energy. It uses Psychic, Water, and Electric Energy to power up its Moves. It can also swap through each of these Typings depending on which Energy Type you last placed on it thanks to its Crystal Type Poke Body. This effect lasts one turn and can help Kingdra hit specific Weaknesses.
