Pokemon TCGsets that focus on legendary Pokemon typically command more attention than other expansions, with one ofthe best from the Black & White eraillustrating that point. Legendary Treasures focuses on some of the best Unovan legendaries, like Shaymin, Reshiram, and Zekrom, among other returning favorites.
While there’s plenty of room for iconic Pokemon like Mew and Mewtwo to join in on the fun in Legendary Treasures, switching things up with more variety than you might expect. Whether you’re here for the unusual golden Full Art Secret Rare cards or prefer more varied color palettes, Legendary Treasures boasts something for everyone.
Cards are ordered according to theirTCGPlayerMarket Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.
Given the age and rarity of certain cards, onlythose with anestablished market price on TCGplayerare included.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition,so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.
10Emolga (Full Art) – $8.73
From Emolga, With Love
Even after a glance at this card, it would be hard to find a moreadorable full art designoff the top of your head. Emolga stands out from the pack in Legendary Treasures thanks to its brimming expression of love perfectly adorned with pink floating hearts to drive home the message.
As Black and White era sets continue to age, cards from Legendary Treasure become more difficult to find in near-mint(NM)conditions.
You can buy Emolga for a couple of dollars in damaged condition, while you can expect moderately played(MP)copies to cost about $3.75. Lightly played(LP)cards can catapult into the five-dollar range, though some canreach heights of about seven dollarswith NM cards fetching roughly the same amount.
9Shaymin EX (Ultra Rare) – $9.79
Blooming In Beauty
Shaymin EX might not make the top few spots of the set, but this card’s art far surpasses some of the set’s more expensive options. Appearance isn’t everything, though, as rarity and popularity are essential parts of the equation needed to determine a card’s value.
Shaymin takes a step forward, eclipsing Emolga, though with cards still available at fairly affordable prices. MP copies hover around the $4.50 range whileLP can soar as high as $8.99,with even NM cards struggling to hit that price.
Inspecting the pictures provided (when available) is important to form your own opinion on the card’s status, regardless of the listed condition.
8Mewtwo (Holo Rare) – $11.10
Surging Power
While this gorgeous Mewtwo is stunning, considering it’s not even a full art, it’s nowhere nearthe best Mewtwo has to offer. However, for a holo rare, this Mewtwo possesses a distinctive quality in the detailed energy crackling under its will.
This card is available in bothholo and reverse holovariations, though each onesells for about the same amount. For example, NM holo sales range from $11 to $13, with anNM reverse holo selling for $12.57.While they may diverge over time, it’s up to you to choose which version you prefer.
7Pikachu (Uncommon) – $12.28
Starting A Pika Party
Some ofthe most valuable Pikachu cardsflaunt simple, adorable artwork like this one, though unfortunately, this card can’t compare in terms of rarity.
As an Uncommon, Pikachu is fairly easy to find, with over 100 available listings on TCGplayer at the time of writing.
Sadly, this card is on a downward trend, presumably due to its availability, as it dropped from over $15 to almost $11 before rebounding to its current market price. With more Pikachu cards released in each generation,it’s hard to see this card gaining significant valueunless there’s a major change in the market.
6Lugia EX – Team Plasma (Ultra Rare) – $12.36
Emerging From The Dark
Lugia is known for boasting impressive scenes shrouded in darkness, likethe fantastic alternate art from Silver Tempest. While this card isn’t nearly as valuable, Lugia still shines with an up-close view of the Generation Two legendary.
Most copies of this card are available in LP orNMcondition, with the former boasting an average price of around six dollars, and the latter reaching as much as$13 in the best cases. If you can find a heavily played(HP)copy, then you can probably snag it for about four dollars.
5Reshiram (Full Art) – $24.30
Stunning Red And White
Reshiram heats up the competition in Legendary Treasures byalmost doubling the value of the card prior,as this full art offers one of the most visually vibrant art thus far. The bright red background is a perfect contrast to Reshiram’s silky white coat.
Reshiram trades in a tight range, jumping between $22.50 to $24.50 throughout 2024, so you can safely expect to payroughly $20 to $25 for an NM copyof this card, depending on when you buy it. However, it continues to maintain a strong upward trend that may shift that range.
4Charizard (Reverse Holo) – $31.66
Roaring Flames
Charizard produces an intense scene that seems designed to one-up Reshiram’s previous full art design. However, while Charizard usually benefits from a slightly inflated price due to its popularity, this art would command significantly more money if this card was a full art.
However, as things stand in reality, Charizard’s reverse holo and holo versions are all we have, with the reverse commanding noticeably more money in NM condition. As a direct comparison, an NM holo’s best sale currently clocks in at $39.97, while thereverse holo in the same condition reaches $50.49.
3Mew EX (Full Art) – $65.67
A Perfect Blend Of Colors
WhileMew boasts an incredible roster of valuable cards, this full art from Legendary Treasures stands out as one of the most gorgeous illustrations this Mythical Pokemon has ever received. The vibrant colors and glimmering sparkles offer the perfect bright background to make this card pop.
Similarly, this card’s price popped from under $40 in early 2024, soaring to about $65 by the end of the year. Mew’s resurgence continues as it receives new depictions that rekindle hype for this fantastic Pokemon.
2Zekrom (Full Art Secret Rare) – $99.78
A Gold Takeover
Zekrom offers us our first look at the blindingly golden and extremely unusual style exclusive tocards in the Black & White era. While this re-coloring with shades of gold is incredibly divisive, the price speaks volumes for the card’s rarity and demand.
This card’sNMcopies have bouncedas low as $94, frequently returning to the $101mark as this card ebbs and flows during the year. Zekrom is one of the best Pokemon from Unova, but its fellow legendary takes the crown for the best card in Legendary Treasures.
1Reshiram (Full Art Secret Rare) – $105.62
Return To Gold
One of Reshiram’s best cardsreturns to claim a well-earned top spot in Legendary Treasures. Although this card isn’t for everyone, maintaining a triple-digit market price is not easy and isn’t guaranteed once you reach the plateau.
Whileyou’ll primarily find LP sales on TCGplayer, they only tend to reach an average of about $70 to $75, but the rare NM sale can command a hefty premium, typically launching the price above $100, solidifying this Reshiram as the best card from Legendary Treasures.
