EA Shares Details On A Movie “Based On” The Sims
As per the newblog poston the future of The Sims, here’s everything we know about the film:
We’re VERY excited to share that in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, our team is working on a film based on The Sims. Kate Herron will direct, as well as co-write with Briony Redman. LuckyChap and Vertigo Entertainment will produce alongside The Sims team, with Herron and Redman executive producing. It’s still too early to share more about the movie but stay tuned for updates as we mark our 25th birthday next year!
It isn’t exactly clear what EA means when it says that the movie is “based on” The Sims. The games don’t exactly have a narrative, so it isn’t like there would be a story to adapt. Any story that this film tells will have to be original, and we’ll have to wait and see how it pulls this off.
However, this is far from the only news EA has given us today. In the blog post, it’s also confirmed thatThe Sims team isn’t working on The Sims 5, and is instead working on more updates for The Sims 4, including multiplayer.
